And that means exactly jack-shiit.

You act as if PS had some great historical playoff/championship tradition like Bama, OK, OSU...... when quite the opposite is true.

Bowl Alliance era - 0 title appearances
BCS era - 0 title appearances
4 team CFP era - 0 title appearances
12 team watered down CFP era - 0 title appearances

We are the laughingstock of CFB, yet there is an idiotic notion that no one would dare even consider refusing the HC job here. No personal reason for refusing exists that money will not change.

For you fools that consider it the best job open right now - you are due for a big dose of reality.
I don't know if we're the laughingstock of the CFB, but our fans definitely overestimate PSU's current relevance in CFB. Fans hearkening back to a golden age of greatness is comfort for some but only proves the point concerning the current state of the program. PSU isn't, and hasn't been for [insert your opinion on the amount of time], the top tier program it once was. Still. Let's hope someone comes in and catches lightning in a bottle.

More likely to catch sh|t through a golden goose.

Regardless of how it ended, PSU under Franklin since 2016 was clearly a top 7 to 8 program if not higher. God, Franklin had won something like the fourth or fifth most games since 2022 until this season. Also since 2016, regardless of what you think of bowls, since 2016, PSU played in two Rose Bowls, two Fiesta Bowls, a Cotton Bowl and an Orange Bowl, and won two playoff games and made it to a semi final.

If you want to say that PSU wasn't in the same class as a OSU, Bama, UGA or even Clemson or Michigan since 2016, then go ahead. However, that pretty much is where it stops. There are probably close to 130 D-1 programs that would give anything to have had the relative success that PSU has had since the 2016 season. Obviously, we're in a bad place now, but this program was thought of highly enough before this season, which turned out to be undeserved, to be the preseason #2 team in the country.

Finally, there's a reason why PSU plays in so many Noon Fox and Saturday night games; it's because that it has one of the biggest followings in the sport. So stop the garbage about how PSU isn't this or that; it still is one of the top brands in college football and, if the right coach is hired and does a good job and is given the proper resources, it should be back to being as strong as if not better than under Franklin.

Maybe he doesn't like 90-100 degree days during the summer? Main reason I'd never move south. I'm taking cold over heat everyday.
Yes, women in sundresses are disgusting. The more clothes they have to put on to stay warm, the sexier they are.

What a relief they don't need to worry about your attentions, right?

Keep your cold. Most would vote for no clothes, not more.

You just made a case for Franklin, to be honest.

What kind of a$$hole at maryland signs a coach to a contract that the “school” can’t pay off? Everyone knows that a coach is not going to be successful at maryland.
There have been a couple coaches at MD that have been mildly successful. But you're right never going to be a power.

I was a Franklin supporter until the UCLA and Northwestern games, after which I just felt that he had taken this program as far as he was going to take it, the program had become stagnant, and it was time for a change for both parties. Regardless, he had lost the support of a lot of the people who actually attend the games and, most importantly, pump big bucks into the program, and it just had become a toxic and untenable situation.

I agree he had to go, but only people that made it toxic were part of the fan base.

Yes, I could. Are you happy now that I have answered your question?
I tried to have a conversation with you, but apparently, that is fruitless. I wasn't saying the Penn State job was the best opportunity, but I wanted your opinion of the ranking of the open opportunities. Apparently, you'renot willing to share that.

Why would you want that POSER’S opinion?

I am saying that the PS job isn't the crown jewel of positions. When that shiit head Paterno name does not appear when searching for a coach, progress will be made. Until then, good luck.

Right now, it is a shiit job in a shiit location.

On the Nebraska board their attitude is "If you're not Bama you're nothing."
I think that attitude has hurt them badly. We're in a new era. Once upon a time the SEC could dominate as the official cheating league. Now everyone gets to cheat, because it's not cheating anymore, it's professional sports.
Because of the paradigm shift, there will never again be a Saban ... or Paterno (i.e. someone who coaches at the same program for over half a century).

I think Lox may be on the outside looking in soon unless he caught the MD President doing (Blank)

I don't know to what extent that happens, but I would think if that were the case they would have an all-star roster and an all-star HC which they have neither.
Well, they do get good players, but at the end of the day, it’s still MD. No tradition and no foundation. The DMV is recruited heavily by every school in the country, including Franklin, who cleaned Locksley’s clock in recruiting and on the field.

MIZZOU. o_O plays a&m today. Drunkwitz vs. Elmo. Difficult decision for Kraft today. Does he attend our game to put the moves on Ciggie or does he head to MIZZOU. o_O to fawn over Drunk and Elmo? 🤔
