The article said that some former PSU players who played for Daboll are pushing for him to at least get an interview

no real evidence that they’re interested in Lea, only speculation

Pat Fitzgerald has some strong supporters at PSU

PSU has interest in Al Golden
Golden made the initial contact not the other way around. What does that mean probably nothing as far as PS is concerned. If Golden didn't already, he will get an interview.

Fitzgerald went 4-20 his last two years in college?
Daboll failed as an NFL HC.

Bill O’Brien should be a candidate if a terrible season or two doesn’t matter, nor getting fired in the NFL.

Holy F. You are starting to act like some of the crazy Fers on here. Get your head out of your ***.

So is that statement a fact or an opinion? I say it is an opinion, like my other posts and like 97% of all posts by all posters.

So stop acting like a fn ******* with your lame line ****. That is a fact, not an opinion.
Are your Fruit of the Looms a little tight? Good lord.

Same.
And it wasn’t just losing. I felt good after Indiana last week. Not because we lost or kept it close, but because for the first time in what seems like forever we controlled play for long stretches against a B10 heavyweight. We had them on their heels! Took away things they liked to do!

It was invigorating not giving up 400 yards rushing to a really good running team. Or making the team (gasp) drop back to pass to beat you.

The comedy that has been Michigan and Ohio State games for years.
Yes because we got blown out so often by OSU and Michigan…never had a close game with either of them.

LSU is a mess, and Ole Miss is becoming a mess dealing with Kiffin uncertainty. Some are speculating he may leave before the playoffs. College football is insanity right now. Krafty initiated chaos by firing Franklin. Just one article of many on Kiffin…

Yeah Lane Kiffin, Nick Saban, Steve Spurrier, Lou holtz failed as NFL coaches to
I’m not saying it facetiously, I said I wanted BOB if they fired Franklin the week of UCLA. I was told his terrible record and getting fired in the NFL made him someone you can’t hire.

Apparently these things make him still able to be hired if Daboll and Fitz are candidates and he should be interviewed.

How is Ole Miss a mess? That’s just typical speculation from someone who knows absolutely nothing.

Every candidate that's been named, aside from Freeman, Elko and Deboer is a 50/50 hire, it's just something PSU has to deal with now. This was always the argument against firing a coach that typically won 9-10 games a season. The risk of doing so didn't outweigh the reward once you factor in the likelihood of finding a guy that would be better. None of the surefire homerun coaches - Day, Smart, Saban - were ever a possibility to hire and the next tier who we have apparently reached out to will be difficult to pry away from their current programs. That leaves you with a pool of candidates that all have risks, the most common one being that they have the same flaw as Franklin... they struggle as an underdog against top opponents.

Does Kraft want a high ceiling, or high floor, from his next hire? We just fired a guy with a high floor, so the assumption is he would want a high ceiling guy. The flipside is all of the high ceiling guys are also have a low floor, except for those 3-4 premium guys that PSU has zero chance of hiring.
That high floor just secured some losses that have not been seen in CFB in 4+ decades.
