It's one thing to get a wealthy (by comparison) program into the modern age of college football and quite another to do it at a place with significantly less in a conference that is on it's heels. I think he'll do PSU 2.0 there which is to say will beat those he should and lose to those he should with the occasional loss to a team he should beat. 8-9 wins, bowl, toot sweet.
There was talk about a flight from VA (jmu area) to University Park last night. Then there was talk about the flight being canceled. This would presumably be about Chesney. Was the flight canceled? Did Chesney tell us to go f*ck ourselves?

- He's still probably going to make the CFP and play into at least December
- Most believe he needs to lose to Auburn for this have a shot
- He can't be vying for an extension (a la Elko), because his seat gets warm after a single loss
- A BOT member may have leaked things could be further along than anyone thought

But didn't he look bummed out? We've seen hyped up Franklin and that was not hyped up Franklin. It's almost like he didn't have enough time to get over the fact that his time at PSU ended the way it did. And of all the video out there, Tech's facilities are way way way behind. Franklin visibly looked sad as if he realized he had fallen off so far.
As of this morning it seems there was no such flight scheduled or, so I've been told.

I would guess that he had a good handle on what's what down there from Pry. I seriously doubt that he and Sexton would paint him into such a corner, with other opportunities still looming. Plus, coaches talk, they all have sources to give them honest assessments of such things.
It's more likely he got promises and assurances for almost everything he asked for, from facilities to hiring to NIL to school acceptances for athletes on the edge.

That tweet about that flight was fake. NetJets EJA534 flight does exist, problem is it went 5:00 Teterboro to KUNV then 9:18 KUNV to Cincinnati. There was just enough truth in the tweet to make it semi-believable.

IMO I think Franklin regrets what happened and wishes he could still be at PSU. I wonder if overtime he will return as other coaches who left and came back to a school. Doubtful I know but wonder if a new AD in a few years We shall see. I do think if he was given support by the AD and they got ahead or address the elephant in the room head on this could of possibly been avoided but here we are.

They are very close to each other. The old East Brady high School is located on top of the hill in Brady, and is now the borough building. KC is in Armstrong county, while half of Brady is is Clarion county while the other is in Armstrong: Just depends on which side of the river you live in. Up the hill in the other direction is Rimersberg, where Union/AC Valley is, they also have a great football program. In New Bethlehem is Red Bank Valley and of course Clarion high school has a great program. A lot of good football for a smaller county. Now the bad news: Brady is slowly dying, no grocery store, one restaurant, no amenities, etc

How is it that there was almost 5 minutes left in the game after the play PSU took a 24-21 lead on, but duhO$U didn't come remotely close to scoring after the play - putting up a grand total of 17 yards of total offensive production after the play. Yeah, heard Auburn wasn't interested and no idea if/when FSU opens up. Really, outside of maybe Maryland and/or UNC, think VT is the ceiling for Franklin until he proves he can win some big games.

Agree that Bama has a shot at the CFP. In fact, ESPN's bracket shows both TAMU and Bama getting 1st round byes.
I don't think he needs to lose to Auburn to leave Bama - but if he does go far into the CFP (let's say final four), I think the attitude of the Bama faithful may change. But would that be enough to convince DeBoer to stay in the pressure cooker?

Yes this is absolutely true. Any program that could conceivably win a NC like Auburn, Florida, LSU are not hiring him. FSU probably said they were not that interested and/or they are not making a change. There are consequences for not being able to win big games and then implode in a season that was supposed to be a natty run. BGJ could do no better than Va Tech.
