The Smart comparison is not entirely valid. He was a DC for Saban who was hired from
Alabama to Georgia. Not the interim position coach from Mark Richt’s staff. I give Terry credit he has improved the play on the field but the team is still 2-3 under his watch and he hasn’t been able to hold onto the commits the way for exa Cristobal did when he was the interim at Oregon.
Watched Chesney being interviewed by John Harbaugh on one of his old coaching podcasts last night and whatever “it” is the guy has “it”. Harbaugh was very impressed as Chesney explained how he promotes competition in practice.
He is my choice but I won't believe anyone until the new coach is introduced live.

Obviously, the advantage would be he can get to know the players and likewise they get to know him . Also Chesney could get the lay of the land done sooner rather than later.

Some of these people if they're going to be famous need to come up with stage names. Bob Chesney may have screwed himself. He could be a great serious coach, but right now he's just someone who reminds us of Kenny Chesney and makes us laugh about how this is all we can find to coach this team.
Maybe should have been Bob Fitzgerald or Bob Golden. If he does come here and suck, there will be all kinds of parody Kenny Chesney songs about running him out of town.
