Does anyone know what Franklin got in NIL funding annually here?
I know it has come out since that NIL/management was a big rough point for Franklin and Kraft.
Any insight as to why we’re seeing such commitment now vs with Franklin? Was it strictly because of the big game record? Or does that have something to do with new adidas money? Doesn’t seem like the adidas powers at be loved Franklin…

WVU was a dumpster fire last year. They can portal into PSU whenever they have had enough down there

How about treating the players fairly and they won't be instigators in the first place. If you were busting your arse and your employer paid someone double what you made and they produce less(Clifford and deluca) would you be happy?

as mentioned in the other reply, there is a later signing period, he will gather a few from there, maybe a couple from his ISU class, and potentially once some other coaches get fired/replaced after the bowl games, could poach from their classes. Only a handful of the top 300 who didnt sign and about all of them are 'committed'. I like Sam Gash, the WR from Detroit committed to MSU, dad was PSU FB, and hearing kid wants to flip to WVU. Worth looking in to and Terry should make a call ASAP.
Word around was that Kraft had given Franklin the go ahead to spend big money in the portal on players but Franklin believed more in taking care of his own guys by the $500,,000 each to Deluca and Clifford. Honestly I believe the money was there for Franklin to use but he didn't want to use NIL and the portal that way. Soo while other programs were throwing top dollar at recruits and portal players , Franklin was paying his current roster guys the money regardless of their on field contributions. This is whats funny to me, he os going to do the same thing he did here at VT and they believe it will work for them there. I cant help but think that there are a few recruits that bailed and went to VT to follow him that are having or going to have real buyers remorse, especially after they see everything coming out today. Hopefully they get everything they were promised and he does right by them.
And the joepa haters hate everything not JoePa. They hate all living coaches. They hate all dead coaches not names joepa. They hate uniform changes. They hate coaches with compensation more than Joe.
Not everyone makes their decisions in life based on JoePa….i know, tough for you to grasp that.
not quite at the P5 level IMO. Great athlete though, baseball and basketball 4 year starter if he wanted to play, ran track last year. He might be able to do it in Rich Rods offense though

Where are you getting the numbers? How about posting them all and we can compare. Deluca was the #2 returning lb from last year. Clifford was the top returning wr. I would bet the transfer wrs and transfer lb got more.
I’m curious even with him coaching…after the guys opt out to go to the NFL and the guys that are going to hit the portal, I’m not sure what we’ll have left. We may need our third string punter to start at wide receiver. Looking at the projections, I certainly hope we don’t end up playing Pitt or Louisville…those could get ugly.

Tons of these guys play qb in high school. Many teams put their best athlete at qb. There are probably 10 guys on our team that played qb.
Team leadership has told the athletic department they don't want to play in a bowl game. Frankly I say Matt should burn these fools out of town and start over. The Franklin stench needs cleaned up
Yeah, a lot is coming out over the last week on the different boards about how Franklin spent NIL. He had money to get a top receiver, but he wouldn’t spend it on one. He’d rather give it the Liam Clifford senior types. No offense to the guy, but he’s not a top receiver.
Kraft got lucky and it only happened once university president got involved. Lets not act like Kraft had this in the bag the whole time.
You and I finally agree on something and well said. I have always supported every Penn State coach as I will Campbell since as a 65 year fan (who attended his first game when Rip was coach) I always root for Penn State to win every game. We Are!
Campbell’s wr coach was 2024 WR coach of the year. Hopefully he comes.
Google it yourself I did those were 2 that were available and posted that I saw. Regardless you payed 500,000 for Clifford for 3 receptions and 25 yards. Our wide receivers have been weak and non existent, guess im an idiot cause I would never have considered giving Clifford 500,000 or Deluca the same. Not taking anything from them but other teams with ambitions of a national championship would not have payed Deluca and Clifford 500,000 each to snag them if they would have been portal players.
Recruits who signed with another team and want to come back, can enter the portal coming up. Plus late signees. Otherwise its standard portal players. Should be able to get some impact players with that big budget. Hopefully the staff will put it to good use.
Shows not much player leadership on this team, though that was obvious most of the season.
I agree 100%. On the other hand, I don’t want to hear Kraft say anything about Campbell being his guy all along either.
