I’ve said that I doubted it would happen. But that is the one scenario that might work. If it’s true, two other things are also true.
First, he doesn’t want to be the principal at the new school.
Second, he feels comfortable that the position will still allow him to spend quality time with his family. The Browns are extremely loyal to their family.

Haven’t talked to him in a couple of months, and wouldn’t ask him if I did. If this is true, he’ll announce it in his own time in the proper way. If so, I wish him the very best. He’ll be the best coach they can have.

Interesting. I know that when Oak Grove was being built, they put a principal in place 12 months prior to its opening (the state only pays for 6 months). That principal worked his tail off getting things ready to go and still felt like he was behind the 8ball when it was time to open. (And he did a great job!) No question that in this case, at least for next year, football coach job will be easier than the principal.

Brown’s family is getting older, which makes a coaching job’s time commitments a little bit easier.

Montgomery Central will be noticed sooner than later. Official announcement tomorrow. I’ve said before Montgomery County is committed to the football program and will land a top knotch HC. Go Timberwolves!!

No difference in Auburn/Alabama, Florida St./Florida, Dallas/Washington and so on and so forth...it’s called rivals. Or should I say was.

They’ll mesh nicely, I’m sure. North Davidson and Ledford kids combined to make Oak Grove... Those kids came together relatively easily.

It’ll be weird those first couple of years, but a decade from now, no one will even think about the two old schools, West and East.

Buddy have you been the Christmas eggnog already? Yes he is a great hire but he's going to be playing 2A or possibly 3A and I don't know if he will have the athletes to win a state championship like he had when he was at Thomasville.

If Benji is the coach, I’ll absolutely be pulling for them. But if the NCHSAA allows these two schools to play as one (which is a little weird in itself) they certainly should be placed in whichever division (2A or 3A) that their combined numbers indicate. If you combine in the middle of a realignment, you should be assigned in the middle of a realignment.

OC, I think they will be playing 2A next year 2 years with some special stipulations that hasn’t been revealed yet.

Thanks. Their combined ADM's this year indicate 1101. Obviously don't know what next year's numbers will be, but if they're 2A numbers, that's where they should be placed. Just hope we're through allowing schools to play down regardless of which school we're talking about.

Dogs9 u know nothing about Montgomery County obviously. Just because WM had one bad year u are gonna sit here behind a computer/cell phone and say he won’t have the athletes. Complete stupidity coming off til of your fingers. Just sit back and watch.

There are some excellent teams in 3A. State titles are never guaranteed. Not even for the established power houses.

I know Brown is an excellent coach. I’d still expect some growing pains in year one and two. It’ll take a little time to wash this past season off the record. They’ll get there, and if it works out like I think it will, they’ll be a top tier program in small 3A. I’ll look forward to the Timberwolves and the Catholic Cougars locking horns in the playoffs some day.

And there has been stipulations. Some being they have to finish at or above .500 and finish top 3 of conference to make playoffs. Is there other possibly but that’s what I do know.

I definitely could see growing pains but by year 2 or 3 u will forget about all this. He didn’t decide to come back to sidelines to lose, he knows what he has in this County. Year 2 they will be on new field and new school that’s when I feel they will turn it up most

Wm2004 I know that your two Montgomery County teams last year combined for 7 wins and neither team beat a team with a winning record. I think like all schools talent goes In cycles and they are in a bit of a down cycle right now. Plus getting sure wins from the bottom of the YVC are also over. I think it’s a great hire and hope he does well.

According to the local paper ( the Montgomery Herald which I get in the mail), the TimbersWolves will play in the RRC, playing EM schedule (made the transition easier) but will be a 3A school. The NCHSAA made the stipulation that in order to make playoffs in all team sports, they had to finish in top 3 in conference AND have an overall record of .500 am r better, hence non-conference schedule will be all so important!!

LMAO.... "like he had at Thomasville..." Well dogs how are those "athletes" doing since a coach not named Brown has taken over? Sit back and watch. Montgomery Central will be a team to be reckoned with in two years. Maybe sooner.

Well last year they were 8-4 which is one more win than West and East Montgomery had combined. And by the way one of their wins was against West Montgomery.

1 year!! I mean u are judging talent in Montgomery County on ONE year. Come on Man you got to be better than that. U said and I quote “I don’t know if he will have the athletes to win a State Championship like he had when he was at Thomasville”. How many has WM been to or Regionals since 2007? But no talent, u got me scratching my head.

I’m certain that South Davidson will run like crazy away from this new school. They’re one of the closer schools, but they don’t want anything to do with a school that size.
