One game changes some teams RPI because the formula takes into account each teams opponents winning percentage and the opponents, opponents winning percentage. If any games are played tonight, the RPI for those teams, the teams they have played and the teams their opponents played will change.

I think that is why if you check the NCHSAA site on the RPI, they include when it was updated.

I know I am an old guy and fuss about a ton of things, but some on here find fault with anything if it doesn't fit their agenda. The formula is what it is. Win your games, period and rest takes care of itself. Beat teams that havent won a game, and your SOS is impacted. Lose to good teams and your winning percentage goes down.

Exactly, and they weight those three percentages to even it out so that outliers, like a really good team with a tough schedule, isn't punished and so a below average team, who sweeps a cupcake schedule, isn't awarded #1.

There will be little if any change in the RPI; it's already factored in. Yes winning your games is important obviously but seeding is too; otherwise just shake'em up in a barrel draw them out and play, draw for home and away. Itfewer would probably be better fewer expectations.Algorithms are b's. Strength of the schedule is a matter of opinion.

If I was in a pitty pat conference like yours, I guess I may try to make that arguement...

Then again, nah I probably wouldn't. I'm a Pasquotank guy so I know better.
