Living in Costa Rica I am used to a "gringo tax" on about everything from rides in a taxi to prices on buying a house. But seeing this has made me aware of the first "gringo discount" in several year, although it is not enough to make up for the difference in everything else.
I just got an early renewal email to renew my online subscription to NFL Sunday Ticket. It is $89 is I pay before the end of May, or $119 after.
Works great for me, just connect my laptop to an HDMI cable and using a bluetooth keyboard and mouse I can watch NFL games in any tv in my house. Many of the beachfront spots bars do the same things, just get a couple of subscriptions for multiple computers and play all games during the season this way.
I did notice that the pricing is only for international customers and when traveling in the U.S. last year for one week I was unable to access my account due to my IP addess being in the U.S.
I would wonder if using a VPN could work in reverse and make your IP address outside the U.S. and pick up a $100 or so subscription and just connect to the VPN to watch games during the season? I do it in the reverse, connect through a VPN to get a U.S. IP address and use sites such as HULU.
