Looking at those stats and see Fairfield has 5 Man-up goals in 2 games, almost 25% of their goals scored Stating the obvious, staying out of the penalty box will make this game a whole lot easier.

Looks like they moved Gallagher down to attack.

2-1 after 1. The one we gave up was a miscommunication dunk. Need to clean that up. That can’t happen at this level.

Offense freaking sucks. Edelmann and D has played well but our offense is awful. Do we EVER run anymore?

We aren’t attacking. We dodge to pass not shoot.
We are running plays not playing lacrosse. This isn’t what has made us successful.

Coyne is regressing. We get nothing out of him. He should spend a summer in Canada playing box. His stick skills are lacking for an attackman. Midfield looks to dodge to pass, and telegraphs everything.

Sounds like their injuries are serious. Team looks mediocre now. Hard to imagine it getting much better in Big Ten play.
Certainly a worry. We have great athletes but they look very tentative. Outside of AC, I see very little dynamic play. It’s all very robotic and tentative on offense. Like they are thinking instead of playing.

Mullins obviously means everything to this team.

On the plus side, Fairfield is not good, but our D is manhandling them 6 v 6.

Edlemann is outstanding as usual. Scared to think where this team would be without him getting a six year.

If I’m Brian, I’m considering keeping Gallagher at attack in place of Coyne after Mullins comes back.

Would Coyne be better off at midfield?

“After Mullins comes back.”

Four words I’ve been waiting to read. I know injury information is treated like a matter of national security, but any chance he’s back for the game in the Carrier Dome in two weeks?

It sure. It’s tricky. We will see him again this season.

Harryman is playing, no?
Doesn’t look great at FOGO.
But their FOGO is also pretty good, in fairness

Is it me, or are teams almost exclusively going zone on D in the new era? Seems like the goal on D is to force low percentage shots from bad angles or from distance.

Even with goal 7, the word that comes to mind to describe this offense is "listless". Too much standing around while the ball circles the field.

Denver was switching from a man-to-man to a 1-4-1 zone all morning

We are getting a look now. Looks like the staff is seeing what I’m seeing. Not sure the kid has ever played it. It’s tough to just get out there in a game. The look is totally different. He is physically imposing but doesn’t play like it. I really think a summer of playing box would really help his game tremendously.

8-4. A roady is always nice.

Obviously a lot to work on. Shooting, more aggressive dodging, and figuring out the 3rd attack spot are critical. I’d strongly consider keeping Gallagher there. Faceoffs are a real concern.

On the plus side, the middies were getting off more shots and looked better in the second half. Edlemann is a wall.

We need to get better in every area fast. Big boy ball arrived.

They gave up 21 at home to St Joes. There are MAJOR issues with this team right now.

Lots of shots fired - I wish there were more on goal.
But in our defense - their frosh goalie did have a very good day.

He did. But we didn’t need shoot great either. We helped him out going low to low. We start hitting some outside shots, it will loosen everything up.

Next week will be interesting. How do we defend Sowers. That kid is small, but powerful and quick as hell. I’d put Pless on him.

Excuses. There gave up 21 to ******* St Joes. We’re going to get clobbered next week if things don’t change in a hurry.
