TA Mclendon for 4 years couldnt do anything against Thomasville but he was D1 recruit and good in college

I agree TA had problems against Thomasville. Thomasville had some great players at that time also. I think Williams has been beat up at times when we got to West in the past. I just hope he is smart this week and considers the fact that we actually have a chance to beat the Bulldogs this year. He needs to make sure he is smart and is healthy in two weeks. I am not saying that he should not care about West but beating the Bulldogs would be great for North. He is a great young man and does not need to cave to the pressure and play if he is not 100%, he has to think of his career/future. As fans we do not always thank about 2 or 3 years from now. I do believe we can win the game this week without him. I think his legacy at North would be complete if he can beat the Dogs before he leaves. #34 please be at your best against the Dogs, we really want to beat them!!!

If you can't beat Albemarle this year then you never will because I don't think the school will be here next year. You will not beat WM but you will beat Albemarle. Pains me say it but wouldn't you say "Its about time" 23 years.
PS I also wish Williams the best in his future endeavers.

I have no doubt he is a D-1 Prospect. All D-1 looks at are measurables. Height, weight, combine drills, etc. Kind of like the Shrine Bowl. They could care less about the fact if the kid can actually play the game or not if he is not a certain height, weight, or speed. They have 85 scholarships which they give to kids with those certain magic measurables in hopes of putting together a team of 22 actual starters. That means that more than half of them will never see the field over the course of their careers as the schools constantly seek to bring in the newer next best things with the magic numbers. Most transfer down in division when they realize they are lost in a numbers game.

It might be best for his career if he sits out this week and saves his legs for Albemarle. Not sure how they can pad his number like that but that's their problem. I hear all the time that he is a very smart kid but lying about his numbers won't help him at the next level. Give those other kids a chance to shine!

Nobody can say he isnt a D-1 prospect just from 1 game this year thats just stupid to say...He does good at combines and has a 4.0 grade point average when he gets to Wisconsin they will have coaches working with him getiing him ready..Plus leading the state in rushing yards
I agree, I am an EM fan and I know this is a question that only the head coaches could answer , but Im pretty sure he would be the feature back( most carries per game) on EVERY team in the YVC. There is not 1 team that wouldnt love to have him, so probably should cut him some slack.

LOL.... I guess returning YVC first team running back Fred Lomax who has outperformed Williams every time they have played head to head would be on your bench?? Joe Leake would start before Williams as well. As far as you being sure... Be sure about this... You'll damn well know who both of those guys are when you are watching their backsides like you least montgomery guys have for how many years now????? Seriously.....????

I know who both of those guys are and they are both great, as is Williams. Also the players on the best teams (West) , should and do win awards. People not wanting to give credit to a kid who has 1700+ yards in 7 games when all 11 players are keying on him at all times, is pretty shallow.

After seeing 34s rushing numbers in the SNAP on Sunday hell he could set out a game and still have 200 yards, too bad they can't add points to the scoreboard or they might have beat EM last Friday.[/QUOTe
Agreed, I was at the game and 168 yards rushing for Williams on Maxpreps can not be accurate, probably about half that.

No the problem is he hasn't earned those yards! It's all smoke and mirrors! Nobody doubts he's a good kid and above average player! But, when he gets knicked up and the whole Coaching Staff stops Coaching to go check on him it kinda looks like the rest of the team don't matter! He sits out half a game and gets credit for 3 times his actual yards?

Agreed on the stats padding, it happens on maxpreps in every sport, but I seriously doubt ( according to ESPN in May, 2015) Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and many others are offering this kid scholarships based on maxpreps stats. He obviously is much better than "above average" and 3rd string back at any 1-A school. Im just going to base my opinion on what Nick Saban, Urban Meyer, Brian Kelly among others think about him.

Offered or he has received letters? I think you need to step off the ledge my friend. Pretty sure he doesn't hold and never held offers from all of those schools. Anyway, shouldn't you be worried about your little football team and not so much what's going on over here? As far as the yards, can you imagine what Lomax or Leake would have if our coaching staff would allow the score to be run up against Union Academy, SD, SS, CC and Least???? That's 1,500 yards against those five. What matters the most is what happens in big games. We will see Friday night.

I watched the North Stanly - East Montgomery game and North has more weapons on offense than they did last year but I still don't think they can stay with West for 4 quarters. The game will be closer than last year but I think West still wins by at least 3 touchdowns.

He may very well win the Heisman behind the Wisconsin OL. But, he does not have that at North Stanly. And all the potential in the world will not help him Friday night.[/QUOTE

I agree on Friday night, West will win by atleast 21 and Ill be surprised if Williams has 100 yards rushing. Im not sure Williams will ever start a game wherever he goes to college. My comments were for the people saying he was not a D-! PROSPECT. The offers alone make him a" PROSPECT" and the sheer # of offers and where they come from makes it more than likely he will succeed. (no guarantees on success ) A team as good as WEST can shut down a player , especially at the RB position.

Also, he must be a little more than a good combine athlete, because his 40 time on the ESPN thread is 4.73 , far from jaw dropping.

I agree with what you are saying about him being a good prospect. He is bigger that the WM backs and that is the difference as far as recruitment goes. They only look at size and measurables as I posted earlier. But West has the better team by far in opinion.

I don't know that WM would even try to beat them as badly as they did last year even if they could.

I was trying to be positive. :) I won't give my honest opinion because we are talking about a high school kid. When he is actually in college, I'll let you know what I really think.

For the record, Im not saying he is a good/great D-1 prospect, because I dont know what one looks like on the high school level other than the no brainers. ( Carl Pickens, Heath Shuler), but judging from the schools that offered they must see something and Im pretty sure they know a lot more than we do. I personally see more fullback in him, but very few schools use one anymore.

They will probably be better off if he doesn't in my opinion atucker2. If you key on him and he gets his standard quota of carries, it takes opportunities away from their other players who have done a better job of hurting us in the past than he has.

Yep I heard 34 is out tonight they are saving him to beat Albemarle next week unless he de commits from NS next week. For all those who were going to WM to see him I hate to bring bad news but you had to figure this might happen after EM took him to the woodshed last week, but the other backs may do better against WM than 34 EVER DID

I'm sure all the NS fans will say "if he'd had played....." Well... stats are stats. I for one hope that Albemarle keeps the streak alive and waxes that Comet behind again. Never seen a more arrogant fan base that has one or two winning regular football seasons under their belts. I thought North Stanly was a soccer school......Good luck to both teams and an injury free game. I hope the coaching staff shows the video of North Stanly from years ago celebrating a win on the middle of our field.... Not that they need any motivation but it is one worth remembering.

WM wins 42-15 and it really wasn't that close. Anyways on to South Stanly. Btw, there was a NM fan that told me to be here after we played so I'll say it again....y'all remember when NS won the YVC in football??? Yeah I don't either. I usually don't like to talk trash but some fans just deserve it. Have a great weekend guys.

Williams may be the decorated, recruited RB with all the accolades but I will take Fred Lomax and Joe Leake over him everyday of the week. The officiating in this game was one for the ages. Flags were flying from random places on several plays. Twice the refs met and looked confused as to what penalty to call. Game film should be sent in. No way should that have happened. WM could have easily hung 70 on that crowd. North Stanly fans you are who you are. Hopefully we see you again in the playoffs with your RB.
