@oldway55 @flyfalconsfly this game wasn’t as close as the score indicates. NE just made a few dumb mistakes with two of them being on ko recoveries. Our qb play was really good the second half and if not for a couple of dropped passes Tre Jones would’ve put up some big numbers. Our receivers corps had a few big drops tonight that were placed perfectly. Those kids are usually very reliable and they still made some great plays. The Simpson kid #3 had his best night ever, he played lights out and helped seal our win. You guys are right about our defense but I think they’ll come around by playoff time.
Bertie is on its way back to its championship days I believe. It may be a couple years away but it’s coming.
Camden County picked up their first win tonight against 1a Gates County and they’ll most likely pick up a couple more this season under their new coach.

I know I’m a homer but the game should’ve been put away early in the third when NE was leading big. One interception and two back to back ko recoveries by RM gave them life. Those ko recoveries were giving me flashbacks to our game a couple years ago against wrh. The defense needs work but there were some positives to give them credit for. Our kids were able to strip and recover three fumbles with two of them in the red zone. I was really happy with that effort. I know defense wins championships so most will count us out. One things for certain, we have a very dangerous offense both on the ground and thru the air. I realize there are a lot of good teams in the east but we’re all chasing that team from Sampson County. One needs to look no further than to see the big upset West Craven almost secured tonight as well as an ED team that will most likely be in top form come playoff time. I’m not even including Holmes and Hertford County who are both very dangerous. I watched the Whiteville game and I was really expecting to see a much better showing from them but they may have just had an off night.
Not gonna lie it surprised me as well but you’d just have to believe me when I say it wasn’t that close till we handed them 23 unanswered points in the third. NE was right there on the verge of 4 tds when the wheels fell off.
Turnovers can swing the momentum of every football game for sure. Gonna have to get that defense right though goob. Clinton looks like the team to beat in the east right now. East duplin is looking really good as well they are showing no signs of a championship hangover.
Clinton is the team to beat in the east. I knew that after last year's playoff game with all they had returning. ED is young and a little better at this time of the year than I thought they would be. But we will have our hands full next week with JK. Them and Wallace just know how to play us. So it wouldn't surprise me to lose either of those games. I do think by playoff time ED will be a hard out.
Man your Tarboro team was a thorn in our sides years ago. Really believe y'all kept us from winning a Championship. Gurly still the best high school player I have ever seen. But it was great games.
I agree with you on Clinton but I’ll hold my judgement out on ED till after the wrh game. Like the JH Rose team NE beat I’m not certain Croatan was very good. In three games played we’ve gave up 40 plus points per contest, that’s a guaranteed loss against a quality team. We have time to fix it though and have a very easy game next week against a bad First Flight team.
Your Panthers may be better than you think, I would love to play them but we always seem to avoid each other come playoffs. We always get matched up against wrh,Clinton, or one of our fellow conference teams.
I think ED has the potential to be very good by playoffs. And I can answer your question No Croatan was not very good. West Craven is the best team we have played. Richlands is a much better team than they are given credit. Really believe they win their conference but that's about it. Maybe this year we match up but I hope y'all come here that's a long drive
This is the year to get us Goob. Our JV is struggling because we have basically sucked every good player on it to Varsity other than the QB. Because we did return our QB. People may think I'm crazy but the next two years ED may have best backfield we have ever had. The freshman has been held back the last two weeks because I heard he had a hamstring issue. But last night he showed out. The 10 grader is already a monster big and fast. Yep maybe I'm hyping some but I believe it.
Goob you better hope to God it isn't Clinton. I believe they could beat most 4A teams with no problem.
Nothing wrong with the hype, I pride myself in it. I have tried to chill out some because I was letting it get to my emotions. Posters like yourself and many others are the reason I frequent these boards. There are a few bad apples but the majority are good people
We wont beat Clinton, it’s not happening. I watched your game against them when I got home. I also watched West Craven/Havelock last night. Those Eagles look pretty good too. It’s Clinton and everyone else is playing for second, that’s the way I see it.
Clinton definitely looks tough for sure. I still think east duplin goes deep in the playoffs though. I fully believe that game against you guys in 2010 was the actual Eastern championship that year. That game was a heavyweight fight. Took one of the best plays in Tarboro history to win that night.
That game was the actual eastern championship. I'm not going to recount our playoff misfortunes because they are many and well documented. We also exercised a lot of those demons last year, but for a long time ED always seemed to run into Todd Gurley, or Kendrick Burney, or Donte Moss, or Willie Parker and on and on.

Just like when JK,wrh,and ED play each other you guys can disregard the records because you know that they mean nothing in those rivalries. The same can be said when NE, Holmes, and Hertford County play. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if NE lost to both of them in back to back weeks

Yes look at my above posts. I can promise you this as much as it pains me to say. If NE and Clinton played at this point your Darkhorses would embarrass us. We can score at will against most teams but our defense just isn’t ready yet. Everyone is playing for runner up in the east. That’s as honest as I can be after watching Clinton obliterate a solid Whiteville team.
Wiz we were up by 3 tds plus in the third. We allowed them to score 30 points in 10 mins of the third quarter off of dumb mistakes. It was like a bad dream playing out as I watched what was happening. I wish you could’ve seen it, you’d have gotten a good laugh.

@Maiden Creek that N Pitt team looked bad when they played in our scrimmage. This score really surprised me tbh.
Any reports that Holmes lost to North Pitt are false. They play Monday night
I know we have some big issues to take care of on defense and with our snapper and fg kicker but our offense has been playing well. Through three games our Jr quarterback has thrown for 900 yards with a really good completion rate. This past game Tre Jones threw for 317 and would been over 400 if not for a lot of dropped passes by our receiving corps. He was throwing with precision on almost every pass. Our rb Tyselle Spencer who didn’t play against wrh last year in our nail biter of a game rushed for just under 200 yards on 14 carries. That kid is a hidden gem and it will be hard pressed to find a better back in the east. I’m not positive but I believe our secondary had a couple of picks and we forced three fumbles. To sum it up we just need our defense to get better and find a way to make a pat so we don’t have to go for a two point conversion every time we score a td.

I don't really take none of it seriously so long as people don't talk about the players negatively by name. I mean they are kids doing the best they can. Or get personal it's all good. Anyway DK Metcalf with a TD I'm coming back in fantasy Goob

. I do think WC/ED/wrh/ are all evenly matched against Holmes/NE/HC in head to head matchups. Clinton is on another levelHonestly l think North has the best offense but defense and metal mistakes are a big problem and have been for years. Herford QB is big time player but defense is a serious problem and seem very lackadaisical. Homes I don't know they are up and down. Wallace is a good team and will be back count on it. They don't seem quite as good as usual on defense as usual. West Craven has potential to be very good but they seem to be kinda like Herford. The coaching staff is what makes ED go. The Coaches are pushing the team harder than ever before. They depend on not making mistakes and keeping pressure on the other team but with all the young players I don't if that going to be enough as the year goes on.Next year probably so. So lots of those games could go either way. I think as of now Hertford is probably the weakest and probably Wallace should be the strongest as of now. Clinton is a load but if a team can hang in there not make mistakes and hope they do there's a chance.
@oldway55 Hertford County also has a good running back. I don’t have a clue about Holmes this season but I do know they play tomorrow evening against N Pitt. Maxpreps has already predicted a loss for the Aces, they have N Pitt winning 24-18.
They will be at North Pitt. We beat by 70 literally last year in round one. So Homes should win
N Pitt looked terrible when they came to Elizabeth City in August for our scrimmage
I was trying to be serious about the teams on my other post Goob. If we ever meet face to face I would tell some things that I wouldn't post on here. But that's all my opinion
