This has some interesting possibilities for the Charlotte area. Butler scrimmaged Northwestern last season (and South Pointe recently as well), so that's the obvious pickup...except that Butler's schedule is already full (Mallard Creek, Richmond, Hough, Western Alamance, Olympic), so someone would have to get dropped.

Vance is already playing South Pointe, and Catholic already had a 2 year series recently with Northwestern. Mallard Creek is in talks with playing several national powers, but I haven't heard Northwestern as being one of the teams they're talking to? Indy played South Pointe in '09-'10, but they have issues right now and already have Mallard Creek and Scotland on their schedule (neither one of which are winnable games for them at the moment).

Hmmm...after thinking this through, I'm guessing the only Charlotte team that Northwestern could end up with would be a mid-tier team that probably wouldn't give them much of a game.

The MC v Butler and Indy games do not excite me as much as a game against a power team from outside the area that will not play big 4A in the playoffs. We got to see Butler and MC last season in the playoffs. Great game. I would rather have seen MC against Scotland, Shelby, Crest, Monroe, Weddington, Dudley, another SC power school especially Northwestern, South Pointe, Dutch Fork, Dorman, or Spartanburg. The travel needs to be within reason so about a two hour drive is the maximum.

Jus spoke to my son...Vance is open week 4. We already played south pointe for the 2yr agreement. Call coach brand if interested. But I have a feeling no 1 wants to play tho.
