Got any links? In other news, it sounds like the Siemens settlement is about to blow up. Siemens went into Jackson and birthed a scandal.
Got any links?
And Siemens deserves a lot of blame but so do the politicians. It’s probably more certain people at Siemens vs Siemens as a whole I’d say.
FactsI don't think taxpayers' money both federal and state should go to non-profits. If I believe in what a non-profit organization is doing, I should make a contribution not the government. I also believe that politicians should be allowed to have a non-profit. Prue Bribery.
As we were discussing the other day, this is similar to the NGO national playbook. It is bribery, and it needs to be stopped. They just think they've found a loophole that makes it okay. So we have to close the 17'ing loophole.I don't think taxpayers' money both federal and state should go to non-profits. That would be a bad idea for medical innovation. A lot of good stuff comes out of non-profit hospitals.I don't think taxpayers' money both federal and state should go to non-profits. Hospital is a little different but when Politician A sets up a foundation, that politician gets put on a very important committee, that politician hires his wife to run the foundation and the foundation pays her an annual salary of 1 million dollars a year then some foreign owned company is needing a vote on a bill donates to that foundation then the wife calls the politician and say, this company just made a contribution to the foundation. That has to stop and the government giving money to any foundation and there is no control of the money once the foundation gets it must stop as well. Even a hospital can abuse it. Chances are the money is going back to the political parties. It has to stop. That would be a bad idea for medical innovation. A lot of good stuff comes out of non-profit hospitals.
Oh yes. Conflicts of interest need to be exposed and snuffed out wherever and whenever. Any government grant should have reporting/transparency requirements to help prevent misuse of funds granted for legit purposes. If there is no transparency, the check should never be written.Hospital is a little different but when Politician A sets up a foundation, that politician gets put on a very important committee, that politician hires his wife to run the foundation and the foundation pays her an annual salary of 1 million dollars a year then some foreign owned company is needing a vote on a bill donates to that foundation then the wife calls the politician and say, this company just made a contribution to the foundation. And children’s lives are saved. Well, except in Baton RougeThat would be a bad idea for medical innovation. A lot of good stuff comes out of non-profit hospitals.
30 Million Dollars of 90 settlement for legal fees, wow if I read that rightIn other news, it sounds like the Siemens settlement is about to blow up. Siemens went into Jackson and birthed a scandal.
Who doesn't want a "Queerceanera"?**
They changed the name to “the Magnolia bowl”Who doesn't want a "Queerceanera"?**
Lot of people would still contribute to that research especially if they were taxed lessThat would be a bad idea for medical innovation. A lot of good stuff comes out of non-profit hospitals.
Bc it didn’t happen. It never happens. It’s all good people doing the lords work. Why won’t they publish names? Why is their no arrests/fines for grant assurance violation?
Yeah man. Research labs are real equipped to market themselves for funding from the general public*** What planet do you live on?Lot of people would still contribute to that research especially if they were taxed less
It’s one of two things:Bc it didn’t happen. It never happens. It’s all good people doing the lords work.
Isn’t that how you think?
It’s a GD tweet limited by characters you 17 ing motonIt’s one of two things:
- It didn’t happen;
- It did happen but it’s within the assurances and they are afraid to name the parties and are just trying to jazz up the angry mob.
Grow a set and name the parties and say you are working to shore up the gray areas that allowed this to stay within the law. It’s all public info. Without that it’s nothing but a bunch of hot air fluff.
How exactly do you think they get funded? Do you think the gubment just goes and finds them and says hey I bet you need some money.Yeah man. Research labs are real equipped to market themselves for funding from the general public*** What planet do you live on?
If it happened it’s apparently a nothing burger, else there would be arrestsIt’s a GD tweet limited by characters you 17 ing moton
it 100% happened or you just think the state auditor is publicly blatantly lying in writing?
When more info comes out will you admit you are wrong or just go into hiding like normal? If it happened it’s apparently a nothing burger, else there would be arrests
Yes that's pretty much how it works. You have the technical type presenting cases to the technical types in the govt that distribute funds based on need, viability, etc. If you asked these people to ask for private dollars they'd never see cent bc they don't speak the same language. How exactly do you think they get funded? St Jude says, “hi”.Yeah man. Research labs are real equipped to market themselves for funding from the general public*** What planet do you live on?
65% of research is done by private dollars so your first reply to me was BS. Take a seat.Yes that's pretty much how it works. There is room for both private dollars and govt directed dollars in research.
They get north of 100M of federal funding and most research programs don't have a massive ALSAC organization to do the fundraising for them.St Jude says, “hi”.
If you think the private market would replace the 35-45 percent of funding that would go away in your world then you have no grasp of how most people like to spend their money.65% of research is done by private dollars so your first reply to me was BS. Take a seat.
They bring in 3 billion of donations a year. Just saying research can be done without federal dollars. They get north of 100M of federal funding and most research programs don't have a massive ALSAC organization to do the fundraising for them.
Oh sure it can to an extent. That's not my point. My point is you can't just make the federal side go poof and expect it to be replaced privately and responsibly. Government distributed funds should be viewed as a service to get dollars to high priority areas that private dollars likely will overlook due to near term commercial viability etc. Healthy criticism and oversight should occur to make sure they aren't spending dollars on nonsense. But if we go pure private then we'd likely have a ton of competitors for a better ozempic to charge 1k a month for than subsidizing basic science research that can advance humanity's knowledge on how diseases work and beyond that likely won't guarantee an immediate and/or massive ROI.They bring in 3 billion of donations a year. I’m not saying we should get rid of federal research dollars. Also not saying we need them. I don’t know a ton about why/why not to keep them. Just pointing out that it can be done without federal dollars in some instances. People donate so much to st Jude for a few reasons: they are researching something people feel strongly about, people believe at Jude is actually making a difference, st Jude/alsac do a great job fundraising.Oh sure it can to an extent. I know you aren't suggesting that. Other guy is and lives a the simple world of good/bad and doesn't have a nuanced thought in his head. Or at least the character he plays on this board doesn't.I’m not saying we should get rid of federal research dollars. Also not saying we need them. I don’t know a ton about why/why not to keep them. People were hired to oversee these grants. We came in and fired a bunch of them, now we are surprised when stuff doesn’t go right?I’m not saying we should get rid of federal research dollars. Don’t explain to me what I can/can’t explain to you.I know you aren't suggesting that. Other guy is and lives a the simple world of good/bad and doesn't have a nuanced thought in his head. Or at least the character he plays on this board doesn't.
You don't have to explain SJ for me. I'm well acquainted with how they operate. And even though ALSAC is one of the most effective, if not most effective, private fundraisers on the planet, boat rocking in the federal funding world isn't a good thing for the hospital and their mission. At any rate, I acknowledged earlier there is room and need for both private and public dollars in research. Both are needed and can address slightly different goals/contexts. It's better for us as a country if both are healthy.
JUST DIDDon’t explain to me what I can/can’t explain to you.
