I guess it really depends as to where he gets drafted, put I thought I heard earlier that he would likely go pro.

or has more potential, anyway. I hope and pray Bright comes to MSU. I don't know how likely it is.

It's my understanding that Bright will be a very late draft pick and you're the first person I've seen say Bright is better than Renfroe in any facet of the game.

I talked to a scout who was watching donnie tabb, We started talking about a few other players and renfroe came up. He said he had a very "loopy" swing, with alot of holes in it. But, he said he has great power and can throw the ball extremly hard. He said he'll pitch at the next level. Also, He swore Renfroe would never put on a rebel's jersey, he was very adamant that Renfroe would be a 1st or 2nd round pick.

actually right behind plate in pressbox. Both pitchers only gave up two hits, Stratton thru 6 and Renfroe thru 3 2/3. Renfroe topped out at 93 and Stratton at 91. Renfroe got into trouble with walks in fourth and a couple of errors(one by Bright). Both kids can throw but I think Stratton is more of a pitcher at this point. Renfroe will probably be higher draft pick because of being dual player. His glove and speed are excellent, I don't know about his bat. Stratton made Bright look bad twice(2K's). I would be very surprised if Bright is not at State. If Renfroe get's 3rd round money I think he will go pro.

I think scouts also like his bloodlines and maturity. The maturity thing is big for scouts.

I agree, he'll be a pitcher at the next level.

I know David and family really well.

They aren't sure what they'll do at this point. They are just waiting to see what kind of offer is made.

I will say this...He won't jump on just any money like some kids may be inclined to. Alot of people are assuming he will go pro prematurely. His goal is to play MLB, but he REALLY wants to play at OM and is fond of Bianco.

The offer will have to be very good to pull him from OM. His family is very grounded having been the MLB route before. They aren't desperate.

Bright is an excellent player from wonderful blood lines. He isn't in David's category as a prospect though, and I suspect he will be at MSU in the fall. The thing that sets David apart from Ethan is potential. David can play the infield postions (he is a great shortstop), has a great bat, and has a strong arm.

I hope the best for both of them. Not only are they from my community, but both of them are connected to my family. They are good kids and deserve the best.

Explain this a little more. Can Bright not hit? I understood him to be a power guy. Is he not a good fielder?

and from a friend who's seen them play. I have not seen them play so my opinion may be a little more 'paper' than reality.

He said during workouts back in the winter they talked about it a little and said its a good chance he goes pro. He is a tremendous baseball player.

Bright's hitting is his forte. He is a big guy with a ton of power. Bright is a good fielder, but he just isn't as flexible as Renfroe in the field. Renfroe can play any infield postion, where as Bright is mostly likely a 1st/3rd baseman at the next level. Both are good pitchers, but Renfroe has more velocity and is more polished. Renfroe is more athletic and faster.

You are getting a great prospect in Bright. And you may be in the better postion considering Bright will most likely not go pro.
