Probably the game of the week in 2A......two old rivals from the ECC had some classic battles in the mid 2000s but since 2006 its been all NSJax as they have beaten Clinton 7 times straight between 2007-2012 and are 8-2 in the last 10 meetings of course most of those wins against weaker Clinton teams.....should be a hard hitting good game....any predictions....Im thinking it's a going to be a defensive game 21-14 Clinton

28 - 21 northside

thelastninja, no football math on this game?;) This is a easy one to do as Jacksonville beat SW Onslow 34-6, Clinton beat SW Onslow 52-0 and Northiside beat Jacksonville 46-29. By that math Clinton should win by a touchdown.

Glad to see you back on the boads

Should be a great game between Northside and Clinton. Northside kids have bought into coach Kendrick Pollock and Clinton is well just Clinton...well-coached and a tough team to beat. Always been impressed with Dark Horses.

This will be a classic.

Home field advantage doesn't mean all that much in high school, some places it does, but not at Clinton so much. We play just as good on the road if not better, than at home. With that being said, I think Clinton's secondary which is thin will be tested by a true spread team with big receivers. Who knows if we will have Prentice back, not sure whats up there, but he didn't play last night and aside from Skinner, that kid is our best player. Who knows, I think it'll be close. No prediction as I'm calling the game and biased but you know who I am hoping wins.

Home field always means "something" it does not matter how Clinton plays on the road, it is how Northside plays a big time game on the road.

I think this one is about coaching and Bob Lewis outsmarting Pollock in this one.

Not much to out smart. We r running T-formation, occasional split backs, 3-4 throws possible a game, that's it. Coach Lewis is a great coach, but its not like his offense tricks anyone or outsmarts them. He lines up, goes straight ahead, and says stop up us if you can.

Many tricks besides trick plays. This game could easily be decided by rather or not to go for it on 4th down in the 3rd qtr. Experience is huge and Lewis has that on Pollock. I get what you are saying, and I like being the under dog dawg in big games, but Clinton has got to be favored in this one.

No underdogs in this game both are ranked both are undefeated so far and both have great teams athletes all over the field....should be a instant classic

Clinton's defense is going to be the determining factor....secondary will be tested front 7 have to pressure the QB who is mobile.... Defense for Clinton has exceeded expectations so far this young season....especially losing 3 potential starters on that side of the ball before the season even started (Zion Autry DE transfer 71st) (Jeremiah Pope DB not playing) and (Derek Bryant DB transfer Harrells-rushed for 147 yards 2 TDs Thursday night) even after losing those players defense has not missed a beat

Offensively we have to excute....offensive line is experienced and so far have not seen the penalties that plagued us a year ago.....Skinner has to turn in a D1 performance these are the types of games you can really get a scouts attention....expect a heavy dose of Jalen Smith the big Fullback.....we going to have to complete some passes I expect Northside to stack the box and dare us to throw.......hell if I was Coach Lewis I would have a pass play drawn up for the first play of scrimmage I mean who would see that coming lol

We definitely have to shore up that kickoff game!!! Two Kickoffs returned for touchdowns Monday night(luckily both were called back due to blocking penalties). Our best offense will be to keep Northside's offense off the field as much as possible. I'm still sticking with my original prediction, Clinton 31, Northside 14.

I was told Prentice is out for two more games for disciplinary reasons.

I can't figure out for the life of me why these kids wait until their SENIOR year to start screwing around, smh! I hope he realizes he's not only hurting himself, he's also hurting the team.

Really hate that happened but you make a mistake you gotta pay for it........sucks cause he is a big part of what we do on defense as a run stopper and pass rush on offense his blocking and pass catching......

Darkhorse04 you don't know first hand whats going on with Prentice, (you are being told whats going on) he is not getting the shaft. CHS admin is being very fair to him in this situation and they are not treating him any different just because he is on the football team. I hope this young man learns from this and hopefully the team continues to play well without him.

Idk what DH04 might have said ctar207, but after speaking with people very close to this situation, there are some that feel the punishment doesn't fit the action committed buy the student athlete. I understand administration has to cover there tail but this kid is a senior and is gonna lose games he will never get back. I think the consequences are trying to be compared to past incidents from former athletes from another sport but this current situation is way different and way less in terms of action or intent. I don't think it's fair either but it is what it is, hopefully he learns his lesson, and Clinton continues its winning ways.

I can tell you I have first hand knowledge of the situation and I can tell you CHS admin has been very fair in this situation they are not just covering their tails and I don't know who you have talked with but the coaching staff understands and agrees with the outcome.

It's just an opinion based on my info but if the coaching staff is in agreement that it is the correct call then I'm okay with that, they know best. I'm moving on, let's talk about football. Go horses. Had been waiting a long time to join this message board, all the discussions about Clinton football is fun so thought it come off the bench and join in, so let's do it. Hope we get a W Friday.

If the coaching staff feels they are doing what is best, then that is what is best for not only the school but Prentice as well. Hoping for a good game Friday.

Let's just say I'm a friend to the program. Have a lot of experience with Clinton football, I know a lot of people involved with the program, former and current, and I just love Clinton football. Hope we smash NS-jax. I've caught the broadcast a few times DH04 on some away games I've missed, haven't missed a lot though. Hope we keep playing well, Horses looked good so far this year.

Clinton stays loaded so atleast you have some talent to spare, but Northside can put points up quickly and have some guys that want to play smash football too. Think this might be a must see. ROAD TRIP!

Actually DE is kinda thin....they can use AJ Williamson at DE or move Frank Nelson down to DE and put Taylor Daniel at the other DT along with big Devante Smith.....idk what the coaching staff has plan but its next man up....Prentice not playing in the SS game does not matter but against Northside it could be a issue....we will see still confident in the Horses pulling out the W
