I hated Jim Palmer was not there last night to see his beloved starter get knocked out after 3 innings. And Ben McDonald. His whining about every single pitch was not where it was supposed to be located and that's why the Yankees were whining is so irritating.

And what the hell is up with that annoying Yankees organ player? Between every pitch it starts blaring noise. Has baseball turned into the NBA. Why is it so essential that there is constant noise now at games? At UNC football games you can't even carry on a conversation with anyone because of the same noise between plays. Are people that bored? Anyway, I've noticed this year the organist at Yankees games is louder ad more prominent. Does there have to be racket between every pitch? Paul O'Neill mentioned it last week and last night even Ben McDoanls mentioned how loud it was. My wife, who can tune out eveyrthing, was lying on the couch reading during the game last night suddenly said, "What is up with that organist? I've heard about enough. It's getting on my nerves. It's ridiculous!" I agreed. I muted the TV.

Since everyone is so focused on nice round numbers like “60”, I’m really hoping that Judge finds a way to finish the season with a .200 OPS edge over Raleigh and wins the batting title by a full 20 percentage points over Wilson.

Data point - Right now, Brandon Nimmo (.764 OPS and ranked 74th overall in MLB) is as close to Cal Raleigh in OPS as Raleigh (.954 OPS) is to Judge (1.144 OPS). People just glossing over HOW MUCH better Judge has been offensively than Raleigh (or anyone else) aren’t really trying at this point.

Yankees have been on a roll. Do we want to win the division and have a week off before playing again or just go into the wild card hot and staying on a roll. Although I want to win the division, I feel like a week off might mess them up.

I completely understand the logic behind what you’re saying, but if you can guarantee yourself advancing a round without having to play at all, that is absolutely what you want. Also, home-field advantage would be nice and forcing the Blue Jays ito play more games on the road since they are so good at home.

Was sitting here thinking. lol

All this talk about Cal being a catcher and the wear and tear on him. What about Judge's size being a detriment and the wear and tear on him? He's almost 300 pounds. He is huge. No player at 6'7" has ever won a batting title. Why? Because at that height it is so hard to extend your arms properly or pull them in on inside pitches. He will also become only the 3rd player with 50 home runs to win batting title, joining Mickey Mantle and Jimmie Fox.

And does Cal get all these ******** strikes called on him like Judge does? I was glad to see Boone get thrown out today backing Judge as those 2 pitches to Judge in the 5th inning were balls. It's ridiculous the number of strikes that get called on Judge and I don't see that happening with Cal. I'm not taking anything away from Cal because he has had a hell of a season, but all these writers and announcers are not paying attention. They are on the bandwagon and if Judge doesn't win the MVP it will be a travesty, just like Jeter not being unanimous to the Hall of Fame.

Jazz has had a rough day. Flipped at 2nd base and hit by a pitch in a bad spot. He is the first batter I've ever seen in my 70 years of watching baseball to run straight to the dugout after being hit by a pitch. Holding my breath on this one but it looked like it got muscle and not bone on the inner arm.

Will someone PLEASE unplug the Yankees organist's organ! lol Enough is enough!

Well, it's us and the Bosox. I don't know how I feel about a 3d starter. Gil, Cam, and Warren are clones. All look like dynamite for 3 innings then suddenly can't get the ball over the plate. I think I'd go with Cam since he has shown he can go 7 innings.

Yanks did what they were supposed to do down the stretch. Granted, it was the easiest closing schedule in the majors but they still did what was needed

Tied for the best record in AL and tied for 3rd best overall

Just keep winning!

Regarding the rotation after Fried / Rodon, I would go with Cam….although I think he has the potential to be the best out of the pen. Stuff is electric. Have Warren as a potential long man and Gil as your 4th starter if you use one

I've noticed this, as well. It's not just the walk-up songs anymore; they're playing music in between pitches now. Very annoying.

Agree with you.

Winning the division would've been nice, but Yanks are hot right now, and all those days off are sometimes fool's gold.

Giancarlo is hotter than a 2 dollar pistol
I've been saying for years now that Stanton is the X-factor with this team. When he's in the lineup and hitting HRs with his usual frequency, Yanks are almost unbeatable, as they were last year before he got hurt in the middle of the year and during last year's post-season run.

And, this season, it's no coincidence that the Yanks MLB-best 6-week stretch to end of the season coincided with Stanton coming back from injury.

So, let me get this straight.

Yanks lose for the season one of the best pitchers in the game (Cole) and a generational superstar in Soto, yet wind up with same w-l record as last year.

Meanwhile, the Mets, coming off an 89-win season in which they won two playoff rounds (versus Phillies and Brewers) and took the Dodgers to 6 games before falling, then proceed to add Juan Soto in the offseason, and have near-career years in 2025 from Soto, Alonso, Lindor, and Nimmo, miss the playoffs completely???

Guess Soto's family won't be enjoying that box any time soon.

The schedule is showing all 3 games for this series in New York.

Is that correct?
That is correct. That’s why finishing ahead of the Res Sox was such a big deal. Still, a three-game series is a toss-up. I love Fried, but its advantage Boston in Game 1. And if we lose that one, the weight of the world will be on our shoulders. Really wanted to dodge Crochet and Skubal in the first round. But we couldn’t.

I felt the same about the O's pitcher the other day and we knocked him out in the 3rd inning.you never know.

One of the pitchers the Yanks gave up for Ryan McMahon is Griffin Herring, who along with Yesavage of Toronto and Tong of the Mets, is considered one of the three best pitchers in the minors this season.

So predictable. Sometimes 162 games actually does give you a really good indication of what will happen come 163. An average Boston lineup and Weaver didn’t sniff getting an out.

Looking like two elimination games coming up. Cant wait to watch Boone over-manage those.

Cora totally out managed Boone. It’s a good thing Sox are decimated with key injuries and basically have no offense. Yanks should win in 3.
