Devin Williams as a set-up man was greatI have to agree. Early in the year Williams was a mess but the second half he was pretty solid. He was a pretty key part of the 7-8-9 pen setup.
Calling his own pitches is terrible. When he would actually USE his fastball (which is pretty damn good) to set up the change, he was lights out.He was terrible. He cannot handle NY. I didn't like him calling his own pitches. I felt that is what got him in so much trouble. Yes, we talked about Gil as a closer. They should give it a try.
Only if he came in to start an inning. He was rough on other pitchers' ERAs. Way too many inherited runners scored on him.I have to agree. Early in the year Williams was a mess but the second half he was pretty solid. He was a pretty key part of the 7-8-9 pen setup.
If he had a problem with NY, why would he sign with the Mets, and why would the Mets want him?He was terrible. He cannot handle NY. I didn't like him calling his own pitches. I felt that is what got him in so much trouble. Yes, we talked about Gil as a closer. They should give it a try.
Yankees and Mets are 2 entirely different scenarios. Yankees fans are brutal to their own players. You could clearly see that bothered Williams. Not everyone has what it takes to be a Yankee. Yankee Stadium is a very hard place to play, home or visitor. If he had a problem with NY, why would he sign with the Mets, and why would the Mets want him?
Playing for the Mets isn't the same as playing for the Yankees. If he had a problem with NY, why would he sign with the Mets, and why would the Mets want him?
Chris Bassitt is basically Ryan Yarbrough at this point in his career. I fully understand the concerns on the rotation to start the season while waiting for arms to come off the DL but….If they were to sign him that would be one I wouldn’t understandI'm hearing that the Yanks have interest in Verlander, Chris Bassitt, and Kazuma Okamoto.
Nor me.Chris Bassitt is basically Ryan Yarbrough at this point in his career. I fully understand the concerns on the rotation to start the season while waiting for arms to come off the DL but….If they were to sign him that would be one I wouldn’t understand
Belli is a Boras client....his clients normally take forever to sign.Deals being made everywhere…and several in the AL East…and we have done nothing. We haven’t even been able to get Belly resigned. God, I miss the days of King George. His kids? Meh…
Agreed. He won't be hitting behind Soto in Baltimore. His numbers will suffer most likely.Orioles signing Pete Alonso for 5 years / $150M.
Just don't think that one will age well. Alonso hits a ton of homers....but that is about it. And he is on the wrong side of 30 to start the contract
I think George was reincarnated.Rumors are hot that….you guessed it…the Dodgers are close to a trade with the Tigers for Skubal
That would be awesome!Rumors are hot that….you guessed it…the Dodgers are close to a trade with the Tigers for Skubal
I know you are a Dodgers fan but good lord....where does it hit a point of "you know, I think we're pretty good" LOLThat would be awesome!
Ahhh....remember the times when the Yanks would suddenly swoop in and pull a trade no one expected or that X free agent superstar was destined for the Bronx.I think George was reincarnated.
They're getting closer ...I know you are a Dodgers fan but good lord....where does it hit a point of "you know, I think we're pretty good" LOL
I was really surprised at how bad Tanner Scott was last year. I thought that was a terrific signing and had wanted the Yanks to go after himThey're getting closer ...
Dodger starting pitching last year? Pretty good
Dodger every day lineup, despite a ton of injuries? Pretty good
Dodger bullpen? Awful
