Devin Williams will pick up the slack tonight and play a big role in the win over ISU. Yes, I know what I'm talking about. Also, look for Paige and Adrian to play big.
Holton isn't changing our stagnant offense. Teams have figured the blueprint out. Our guards can't shoot anymore, and we have a post player who could be a stud but fades away and is off to the bench within 2 minutes of every game.
We have about 3 guys that are getting serious minutes that has no reason getting minutes tonight.....but they have to because nobody else will step up. Right now, there are only a couple guys who belong on the court.
According to some folks that just happens at random and there is nothing that can be done about it. Which it certainly can, but I think it is becoming a pattern that maybe WVU has a hand in allowing as well. The half court defense has looked good at times such as at OU and downright horrendous like, well right now. This basketball team has a lot of problems that are being exposed and there doesn't seem to be an answer. Since the Oklahoma game we have looked subpar to downright bad in 3 (working on a 4th now) of the last 4.
Great way to end the half. Get a turnover, jump from the foul line for a layup, get offensive rebound under the backboard, attempt a shot from behind the backboard, then give up an alley-oop to be down 4 points instead of tied.
Great comeback effort, but these small things are frustrating.
Nice recovery all things considered. I'll take an L. ISU is damn near unbeatable in that building, I just want to see us fight back which we did in that first half. Getting run off the floor for the 2nd time in a row is a serious cause for concern, hopefully we have another strong half and potentially steal a W.
Agreed. I worry we may be losing 1-2 guards in the off-season. You have to figure that Tarik will be our starting PG next year. Then you add Bolden in to the mix. There are a couple of guards on the team that aren't exactly playing with the fire and abilities they were at the beginning of the year when they were getting a lot of minutes. Seems that now that their minutes are being cut, and the times in the game when they are out of the game (ex. end of game situations), have frustrated them.
It was a really good response to the adversity of the half, but it means nothing if we go on another scoring drought to open the second half and let them rebuild that double digit lead. Keep that defensive intensity up and play smart on the offensive side of the court.
