First half is almost over, we are generating lots of turnovers but not getting many points off them. Our foul shooting is only about 50% Heild held in check 0 points. 8 point lead with about 3:30 minutes left in 1st.

Don't know what to think about this game at the half. We've blown so many shots and opportunities.

But I'm leaning toward us wearing them down unless Hield explodes in the 2nd half.

I agree Hurdy... ...and it's hard to believe heild can be contained for an entire game.

Gotta be the best half of defense all season vs Hield.

That said, we're 2-4 from FT line. Must get Paige & Phillip attacking the rim & get Devin back to the line too.

Can't fall in love with the jump shot. Let OU do that.

Kind of knew that throughout the game....but a Great season not even the conference intrigue could ruin.

Still, just not smart to make that FT with 1.8 seconds left. We have to be smarter than that. A miss almost guarantees an 88 foot shot with a baseball throw.

I can't even remember the sequence. I'm not sure Huggins had the chance to coach Holton on that and players will always try to make the shot.

If we were up 2 points, I agree try to make it. But being up 1 point, making it puts us up 2 points and we know that a 3-point desperation shot is likely all that will go on and that will be use regardless if we are up 1 or 2 points. So, miss it intentionally. I'm sure Huggs has instructed this in the past, and perhaps tonight too. Be interesting if it is asked in post-game conference.

No timeouts left to tell Holton to miss. And when the shot went in it was like NOOOOOOOO! And I dropped to my knees and pounded the floor and woke up the wife and two dogs and then they waved it off and it was like YESSSSSSSSSSSSS! and a happy dance with the wife and both dogs. It was, you know, cool.

Im not disagreeing with you. That's the right way to do it. As a player, that's a lot to process and he figured he can't go wrong making the shot...just giving him the benefit.

Same. Two kiddo's asleep upstairs and I freaked out anyhow. I think the TCU game two years ago (Trickett's game) was the last time I went full toddler on the ground like that...literally kicking and screaming.

CRAZY FINISH - the fouls on Devin, Oklahoma knocking down two improbable 3's, Paige hitting a rainbow for the lead, Hield shortarming a finger roll, Holtons foul shots, 2 point lead, 1.8 seconds left Hield takes the inbounds pass, dribbles to mid court, heaves a shot at the buzzer, IT GOES IN!! ITS WAVED OFF!!!! God I love college basketball.

WV out-played OU 95 percent of that game. A crazy finish, but a winning finish nonetheless.

Visions of their tip-in in Norman to beat us are erased by what transpired Friday.

Thrilled with the big W.

I'd add Devin's offensive foul while establishing post position late in the waning moments was...a joke...could've cost the game but Spangler whiffed on 2 ensuing FTs. I also felt Devin drew a charge on James driving in with less than 10 secs to go, but a no call & Holton scrapped for that key rebound.

What may be missing too amid Hield's near heroics is Paige made the game winning bucket on that rainbow top of the key jumper down a point. He also hit 2 critical FTs to pull to within a point at 67-66 before sealing it. Big ups!

That wasn't Heild that missed the layup, it was their freshman that looks like Heild (James?).

Those two fouls on Devin were a pathetic attempt for the refs to put OU in the finals.....no way those last two were fouls and then the contact on Philip on one of the last possessions in final 2 minutes wasn't called. He was just dribbling and guy bumps him, he looks at the ref with the "WTF" look, no call.......

Still, must miss that last FT......IF we missed the first one. If we make the first, try to make the 2nd to go up 3 points. But, with 1.8 seconds left, no timeouts for either side, must harder for OU to grab a rebound and heave it 80 feet than for them to get a free inbound and a couple dribbles and heave from halfcourt with one of the best shooters in the nation.
