OK I'll ask... is it OK to root for the Hawkeyes tonite?

How about we call it rooting for a more favorable matchup. However, I think they have about as good a chance of beating Florida than we do winning the NCAA championship.

No. And I’d rather play Florida. Also, I bet money on and won with herkie on Friday. So I’ve had my one freebie with them.

...kinda am. Not gonna lie. What say ya'll??
I won't root for Iowa. But I will be interested. I do think that we can play Florida tough regardless of how close Iowa plays them. We're better than Iowa. If we're hitting, we can play with anybody. If Iowa pulls an upset, they will be tough to beat. They just match up well with us, play deliberate and really rough, dirty. Apparently, UCLA and Vandy copied Iowa's strategy. Lots of grabbing, cheap shots.

Grabbing and cheap shots that got no fouls.

Nebraska played in a football national championship game more recently than Iowa has been in the Sweet Sixteen
Man since you mentioned it I had to check out the last time they made the sweet 16.

Not since the 1998-1999 season the last season with Tom Davis and they finish tied for 3rd in the Big 10.

I hope lighting strikes the arena, but if the skies are clear...would rather play the dirty birds, not Gators.

Painful to write.
I don't know, but we just beat the team that took them to the woodshed beating them 91-74 in the SEC Tourney. If we play like we did the last 2 games, I could realistically see us beating the Gators

I never got the Iowa hate ...i mean I know it’s not real hate just giving people a hard time. Iowa and Nebraska are basically the same from a cultural and agricultural standpoint. Nebraskas best player is from Iowa, coach starred at an Iowa school. All in good fun but the insults just seem childish
Do you live in a bubble? You can’t be this ignorant. Have you ever had any interaction with the Iowa inbred fan base. Pull your head out of the sand.

Yep

Fran never made the 2nd weekend in the generation+ he coached there

had a couple high seeds too
To be fair, Fran always gave himself an aneurysm about 2 minutes into the first game of the opening round. So he can't be held responsible for all the early exits.

As much as I dislike Iowa, Ben McCollum is a great coach, and they are going to be very good as long as he is there. He is basically the Curt Cignetti of basketball.
