we originally stated that we played a harder OOC schedule than you. <span style="font-weight: bold;">Statistically</span>, last year, we had a much, much, much harder schedule overall than you or anyone else in the country for that matter. A lot of this had to do with us scheduling very tough OOC. To even argue otherwise is well, very TEE SUN of you.

Now that I hear ESPN is footing part of the bill, only playing Boise in Oxford is actually not bad. At the very least its generating a lot of publicity.

Way to change the argument to make it more favorable for you.

Yes, we had a really weak OOC last year, as we do this year. But to make it sound like y'all play a bunch of Ohio States and Oklahomas every year is $*@$+!# retarded.

Not 16.<div>
</div><div>I don't feel that Boise State, who plays 1 or 2 tough games a year, should get a shot a the big money BCS games because they can run through that schedule.</div><div>
</div><div>It sucks to be in Boise's position, because they are clearly on the cusp and should deserve to atleast be in the discussion. But I feel pretty confident that if Boise had to play USC, Oregon, Cal, Oregon State or Arkansas, Bama, Auburn, LSU or TTech, Texas, Okla, Okla State every year, that they would probably lose 2, if not 3, of those games. And with a real schedule, Boise wouldn't be a BCS team.</div><div>
</div><div>Edited for grammar.</div>

I think one reason you all think this is such a terrible move is you
realize all the great publicity we'll get from the matchup.
That's not what I think. You are assuming that.

I didn't do any research before 2005... but Boise's record against BCS schools since then is 4-4.<div>
</div><div>Wins against Oregon State (06), Oklahoma (06), and Oregon (08 and 09).</div><div>
</div><div>Losses against UGA (05), Oregon State (05), Boston College (05), and Washington (07)</div><div>

I know you lost more games than you won. Congratulations on your "Toughest Schedule Championship." First on in a long time for MSU.

Boise would've rolled us every year from 2003-2009.<div>
</div><div>But would Boise go 11-1 with our schedule any of those years? I think not.</div>

I didn't reply to you, but I did generalize when I said "you all". Let me rephrase..Lots of MSU fans realize all the great publicity we'll get from the matchup, excluding DS, of course.

That same team that lost more than it won played your super awesome, scheduling-monster of a team. I rechecked the score and it still says 41-27.

no one gives a **** about the publicity.

I don't think anyone gives a **** about the game really. It was just summertime discussion and I phrased into "should you schedule tough OOC games"

At the end of the year, you don't get bonus points for playing a tough schedule. I'd much rather go 9-4 against the weakest schedule in the country than go 5-7 against the toughest.

If the original argument is that playing 1-2 tough opponents a year isnt justification to give them bcs respect, even playing the top 2 teams from the previous year still doesnt change the point. The point is that people do not think Boise would last if they had to playa schedule with 6-7 teams that are in the top 30, and a few others that were on the verge or could jump up and bite them.

How long would beating one or two top teams EVERY year and 9 nobodys take to convince somone they deserved BCS respect? Forever.

He's not talking shitabout the program. Nor is he arguing that we are better. He's saying that until Boise can play a grueling schedule, there is just a maximum level of respect they get to earn.

Yes they are good. Yes they are fun to watch. But they are hitting off the front tee's. </p>
