I almost think you need more 3rd and 4th tier NBA team options. Too many chiefs. Not enough hungry guys. It would create a good balance... And with these top players, a lot of them just carried their teams for 82 games and playoffs.

Also, Pop is too old.. and I'm sorry, he's a bit too concerned with making social statements. There's better options at this point.

Pop must go! Period!

I think a college coach is the best choice for Team USA.

I thought that too.. but I wonder who would garner respect, now that K is gone. Few? Wright? Cal isn't a good enough strategy coach for me. Not loving the options.

I almost think you go with Spoelstra, Bud, or Thibs. Guys that likely know the entire USA roster personally.

We just won women's Canoe 200m.

Wild how they do it! They stand in a split squat stance and literally just row to one side.. not back and forth.. someone must have figured out the fastest way was to not move side to side and adjust weight to counter the onside rowing.

..or something. I have no idea. But they were one side rowing.
They should throw in a bunch of starving crocodiles and make it more interesting.

The US' defense this half has been absolutely fantastic. Australia only has 10 points in the 3rd with a minute left.

US 28 Australia 10 in the 3rd with 40 seconds left in quarter.

I suppose the biggest issue with having an
NBA coach is political.

Coach K didn't have to worry about hurting someone's feelings in case he needed to sign him in a year or two.

I just want to win in dominant fashion.

LMAO. Australian player throws it under his own basket. US blows the layup but then gets a putback. Soooo sloppy.

Is anyone actually watching the games on PeacockTV? Or is everyone else streaming for free?

Australia has 5 NBA players.

All are role players at that level.

The USA has multiple All-stars and a couple of super stars.
I don't know how they select the team these days. They didn't have tryouts for most of the players but that might have been because of how Covid-19 affected the last 2 seasons. They need to have tryouts for everyone who wants to be there. I don't care if they are an all star either. If we need a point guard and that all star isn't one then they don't get selected.

I would rather have a solidly made up team of good players over trying to throw random top players that don't mesh together and try and out talent the opponents. We don't need players like Lebron James either that have other things they are more worried about then representing your country. I actually found this below when looking up info on how the team was picked.

LeBron James, for one, all but ruled himself out after the Los Angeles Lakers’ season-ending 113-100 loss to the Phoenix Suns on Thursday night, reminding everyone he has a “Space Jam” sequel to promote this summer.

“I think I’m going to play for the Toon Squad this summer instead of the Olympics,” James said after the Lakers’ loss. “I think that’s what my focus [is] on, trying to beat the Monstars, or the Goon Squad we call them now. Didn’t have much success versus the Suns, so now I am gearing my attention to the Goon Squad here in July, mid-July.”

The original Dream Team members would probably whoop his a$$ for having that attitude about the Olympics.

Yeah, we all remember how hard the original dream team members played in their fourth Olympics.😆

I do think Lebron would have been great for our team. Aside from average shooting (NBA standards), he does everything extremely well. He'd be a great leader, experienced.. and hate to say it, kind of like a Peyton Manning in the way he builds and runs his teams. He takes charge.. and I think we kind of need that.. especially when KD is the one running g the shoe (for as great as he is talent wise).

The 4th "Dream Team" wouldn't be the original Dream Team.

After a rough start to the Olympics we get the gold in basketball. They tried to screw it up at the end but managed to hang on. Disappointed in Booker's play in the gold medal game. I believe he struggled in the NBA Playoffs final game as well. Maybe the pressure gets to him.
