So the Russian Olympic ban is basically that they have to call themselves Russian Olympic Committee instead of Russia and no one is actually banned? Don't be so harsh IOC.

Goofed off and played some fun water polo once. Almost drowned all by myself.
I also watched water polo. Lots of fouls in both men's and women's. Reminded me of college basketball.
Yeah I noticed they do some sort of "expulsion" or some term, similar to hockey where the player comes out and it would be 5 on 6 or something.
Has to be brutal. You're treading water the entire time which already isn't easy, but then you're trying to fight for a ball, back and forth, while the other team is constantly fighting you. What I find almost a bit anxiety-inducing.. you can't really take a break. In basketball or any other sport, you can stop, put your hands on your knees, and just take a few deep breaths. There seems to be no sort of reprieve in water polo. You can't really "rest" in the water.

They should do an all underwater race. You go until you have to take a breath and you're out. I use to think it was an accomplishment as a kid for me to make it all the way underwater across the sides of the pool. These athletes probably could make it the length of the pool on one breath.
It's a brutal game. A lot of dirty play in it. Some ugly stuff goes on above and below the water.
I'm amazed the chick(?) that's built like an offensive lineman can stay afloat while swimming back and forth constantly. I'd struggle to stay afloat in my bathtub for very long.
I found myself saying if I knew how to shoot a bow real good I could actually be an Olympic "athlete".
