Since Vegas opened the line at -2.5 then they are saying the Ags are 5.5 pts better on a neutral field. Vegas doesn`t move a line unless betters are betting too heavily on one side. So betters actually move the line and probably do think aTm is 10 pts better on a neutral field.

that a given, "homefield advantage" is certainly variable regarding the teams and site...
Vanderbilt or Ole Miss, for example, would probably only see a point or two advantage at home, but a 4-5 disadvantage at LSU, Florida, etc...

Rarely and never are two different things. Stanford was once +41 in 2007 vs #2USC and won that game 24-23. Guess how many other times a +41 team has won though.

I thought I saw the line open at -2.5 Aggies... Vegas typically does go with a -3 for the home team, but there are exceptions as noted above... People placing bets move the line. Tusk is spot on for that... Most books want to mitigate their risk and collect the juice... If bets start pouring on one side the line will shift, supply and demand principle. If people are buying it at -3 hand over fist, then move it to -4 etc... What makes no sense is that smaller bookies usually won't take bets until the day of the game after all of the line shifting has been done.
