On a side note, Devonta doesn't look worth a **** out there. He has one alley..

oop jam, and a bunch of bad plays other than that. I'm trying to find a positive from tonight. We will definitely be working on full court press offense during practice this week.

I'm not saying he isn't going to be a good player, just that he didn't show me anything tonight except he can jump. He had 6 points. 2 alley oops and one dunk all on assists from other players. He didn't look good doing anything other than dunking the ball. Hey, I'd love to have him out there struggling with our other freshmen, but if you ask me which of the 2 I'd rather have, Pollard or Fred? Right now I'd take Fred. I see a lot of good things for him in the next couple of years.

Any coach who doesn't try to wear us out early with a full court press this season is a dubmass

Big men who averaged less than 20 in high school....

are unlikely to have a very big impact in their first year in college. He may get something going later in the year.

Disagree

Pollard is very long & athletic. Was very very good on defense & made more plays on offense in the second half.

"Doesn't look worth a ****" is sour grapes. He would be our best player easily.

It isn't sour grapes. Yes he is long and athletic. That doesn't make him a great basketball player right now. Hell, he didn't ever touch the ball except when somebody passed it to him in the air or on the blocks. And the few times he did have it, he made an awful pass and didn't look good handling it. He most certainly would not be the best player on our team. He would be and is right in the mix with all of our freshmen. Young and inexperienced and making mistakes. He may end up being a helluva player, but from my point of view, Fred and Craig have more upside than I see from him. Pollard is playing with an experienced team with 3 returning starters and a couple of other returning players, so he will be brought along a little slower. Our young guys are being thrown to the wolves and it showed big time last night. Hopefully by the end of the season, we will see better ball control and less turnovers. Lawd knows, I hope so.
