Darryl Strawberry (drugs), Barry Bonds (jerk/'roids), Lenny Dykstra (drunk/jerk/'roids/bad w/money), and Kevin Mitchell (hates cats).

I did like Oral Hershiser a lot. He was turned out fairly normal...

I wasn't a Royals fan, either, though I liked them fine. The guy was just a phenomenal hitter with the ability to hit for average like Pete Rose but he hit for power as well. I think he was fast enough that he could have legitimately hit in every spot in the lineup and adjusted his game to that role.He wasn't a great but still very good 3b with a heck of an arm.

...who was drafted by the Yankees, and she knew he'd do well in the majors. I was thinking, yeah, right. He was, of course, Don Mattingly.

the same year he destroyed the home run record with 73 he also destroyed the most walks record and intentional walks record. Think about that for a second. Most homeruns with like 250 at bats that he didn't get a shot cause he was walked so many times. He could of easily hit over 100 homeruns that year. Steroids or not there was a 4-5 year span when you just couldn't pitch to him because he would hit it out. Best hitter of all time. I'm a life long Giants fan though so I have a different view than most. Will Clark is my second favorite.

It was because we were so similar. You know -- a Polish, 18-time major league allstar, triple-crown winning left-fielder. The similarities are eery.

The horizontal card with him sliding was possibly my favorite baseball card ever. I was a huge Ron Gant and Mcgwire fan until I settled onto the Cardinals about 96.

I was seriously depressed when his knee exploded last August. The workhorse on my favorite team for so long, the heart and soul, THE Franchise.

Second Place: Cal Ripken, Jr. Lived in Baltimore for 2 yrs as a child and went to opening day in 1993. Always liked his attitude and admired The Streak.

Third: Vladimir Guerrero: Again, hard work ethic, no nonsense, hell of a cannon from RF, swung at anything, hit HRs off of his shoelaces, and never wore batting gloves/pine tar. Gritty.

Honorable Mention: Will Clark, Raffi, Moreland.

Least Favorite: A-Rod.

But Yaz was my next favorite behind Nettles and Munson.

Yaz was old school in 1978 when baseball was still more important to me than....well...

[*]1984 World Series MVP
[*]6-time All-Star (1980, 1984, 1985, 1987, 1988, 1990)
[*]4-time Gold Glove (1980, 1981, 1983, 1984)
[*]3-time Top 10 MVP (1984, 1987, 1988)

The Tigers are my team and Tram was my favorite growing up. He played from 1977-1996, and along with Lou Whitaker formed the longest continuous double-play combination in MLB history. He also, along with Whitaker, made a cameo appearance on "Magnum PI," as Magnum/Tom Selleck is a huge Tigers fan.

I was 13 when the Tigers won the 84 series, and in 81 and 85 State went to the CWS. So at age 15 I thought it was a normal and regular occurencefor my teams to be in the WS/CWS. I've learned different.</p>

Watched Strawberry, in person, play for the Jackson Mets. He was the man. Then it was fun to watch him in the bigs.
