They were very short practice clips, but after seeing that, who do yall feel like we should be looking at the most to add if they all gain transfer ability? Keyshawn Hall, Mark Mitchell, or Jaxon Kohler? Or a 4th option (center from Richmond, Cade Tyson, etc.)
I still stand by adding Kohler if you have the choice of the lot.

I think this is the best answer. SEC experience. Offensive spacing. Rebounding beast. Could be a small ball 5 if MM needs a breather and Franck is hurt.
Sounds like people feel we have four guards who can cover the 1/2 spots. Kam gets back and we have the 3 covered with him and MilMom. I would want Kohler, because he can play the 4 and 5.
This may sound stupid but I think a lineup of mark mitchell at 4/5 and Reece potter at the other position could be a thing for us

I don’t think adding Kohler or Mitchell affect Kepnang in the least. His role is as clear as anyone’s on the roster. When Malachi goes out, Franck checks in. Kohler/Mitchell don’t change that at all.

In the same vein as Mitchell did for MU. Kohler “playing center” would be akin to Carr doing it. If it’s needed, you can get away with it. But if Franck is healthy, Kohler isn’t taking those backup Malachi minutes.
I don’t understand why this team’s weaknesses are considered to be rebounding and defense. This is a big roster, we should be terrorizing the rim and offensive players.
Just don’t have many proven rebounders. Also don’t have a proven down low defensive type guy. N’Diaye is long but can he defend?

Hawthorne seems to have a slow release. I hope that works out, he is very tall so it may not matter but his gather to shoot kinda worries me unless he’s open.
Just based on his shooting motion in that clip. Could be just lackadaisical shooting in practice, he takes the ball all the way down past his waist though, I’d assume that won’t change much. Look at Milan, high release and quick. It is better to have a fast release at this level usually. But he does have the size to overcome that.
What you say about the value of a quick high release is true but I don't personally think any real judgement about his ability to release it quick enough should be derived from watching him shoot one wide open three in practice. You could of course be correct but I wouldn't be concerned just yet based off of this.

The ball travels a long way from his catch. Tends to drop and then arc it to his pocket. There’s a lot of movement. It’s like the polar opposite of Noah. Watch Trent catch. It’s damned near in his pocket immediately on every catch. He uses his body to build the height of his pocket. Now if he could just make a damned shot. I’m convinced Trent’s problems are the same reason I could make a damned 3-6’ putt for par when it mattered. 6” space between the ears. Hawthorne has bigger issues, but TBF, I can’t imagine him being super high on the list of dudes we want hoisting 3s.

Kohler would be the starting 4, and I agree that Big Frank will be the backup 5, but I think Kohler plays backup minutes at 5 come tournament time when the rotation shrinks. He is the better player. Would love to have him
