Yankee Stadium
Well, maybe not.
Why would Syracuse give up a home game against Pitt? ‘Herm cut a really, really good deal’ syracuse. com
I guess that is better than the Meadowlands?Well, maybe not.

It's the yankee parking lot next to the grave that Ruth built. The thing that always baffles me about this kind of thing is it's not even "Yankee Stadium", just some place that took the name.
You're 100% SPOT-ON. Some people are just plain old STUPID thanks for this recall lolol!!!I remember the night before signing the Big Ten contract and 75% of this board figured the Big Ten would demand Rutgers to play at the Meadowlands for Ohio State and Michigan. Dolan blew that out of the water. Saying Rutgers gets to decide where they play and most didn't believe still. 11 years after and not one game in the swamp. The biggest waste of money ever. MetLife is a architectural dump. Was there just once. Unfortunately it was EL game. I'll return to watch him get up off the turf. And only then. I'd really liketo go back for that!
Syracuse was willing to move the game for a variety of reasons, athletic director John Wildhack said, with benefits ranging from recruiting New Jersey to connecting with alumni to appealing to future undergraduate students.
Never been to MetLife. What exactly makes it so bad??MetLife stadium is awful. Just awful.
Up there with the Mausoleum on long island
Contrary to what we think, the Cuse fans think they are cleaning up in NJRecruiting NJ? Really???
Expensive, ugly, and a PITA to get to.Never been to MetLife. What exactly makes it so bad??
They still perpetrate that line of horsesh*t from Bill "High on His Own Farts" Parcells about how the "swamp winds" can be manipulated through the building by having no roof and opening the delivery doors. Having a roof meant that under a certain temperature or precipitation level the NFL could dictate the roof be closed. They could have put a roof on the thing and make it the premier stadium in the Metro area but the owners cheaped out with the excuse of wanting the winter weather to help their teams.
^^^ this ^^^"The building is a hard-to-navigate, gray, soulless dump."
Don’t rile them up. After all, they beat us the last time we played in 2021. Oh, oops…
In 2009 an executive who had some role in the construction of the place came to give a talk in one of my sport management classes. First thing we asked him was why they didn't include a roof. He basically said that while the cost of the roof itself wasn't too bad, the cost of ongoing maintenance was too high. I believe I have read something about some other stadium that has a retractable roof that is no longer used for the same reason, so perhaps it's not an unreasonable explanation. The stadium still sucks either way though. They could have put a roof on the thing and make it the premier stadium in the Metro area but the owners cheaped out with the excuse of wanting the winter weather to help their teams.
