Depends on where he goesIMO,as to whether he plays in NBA. I,could, see him as,a solid role player, off the bench for somebody like coach Pop.
Sadly I have to agree with you. Just do not see him in the NBA because of the reason's you give. I hope we both are wrong and would love to see him make it in the NBA.No Way on earth Oscar is an NBA player. He dunks with ease you say, he's been blocked by the rim on multiple occasions all year and misses often from a foot away. I love him don't get me wrong, just being honest here.
He definitely isn't "bouncy" lol. His midrange game doesn't need to be defended unless he's shooting free throws, I thought on a few occasions this year he had busted the backboard with those jumpers. He isn't in the mock drafts for a reason, do you think they don't know about him lol. He also is short for the league, he's not a center and he can't play the 4 there because he can't shoot.
He's a wonderful college stud but he ain't no leaguer. It's fine if you think so though.
I agree, but sadly, he’s still gone after this year.Sadly I have to agree with you. Just do not see him in the NBA because of the reason's you give. I hope we both are wrong and would love to see him make it in the NBA.
Bam would beg to differ.Love Oscar but he’s probably a 2nd round pick. He’s a beast but he’s also a below the rim big man which doesn’t really exist in today’s NBA. Sounds crazy but it might be best for him to come back for one more year and develop a more consistent outside shot and ball handling/passing skills. If UK can find a way to get him NIL eligible, might not be that far fetched.
But if he stays one more year and develops his ball handling and shooting, he could get drafted higher which means a team will invest more time with him. If he goes this year, he likely ends up mid 2nd round anDefinitely agree with him needing to improve his handling and shooting.. but as much as I’d want it to, it doesn’t necessarily need to be at UK. Along with his natural abilities and size/strength, His basketball IQ and ability to read the play and the ball on missed shots are enough to give him a shot in the NBA. Add his footwork and the touch on his shot he has a lot of NBA potential, especially as he develops a 3 ball. The fallacy that you have to be an above the rim player in the modern NBA needs to go. Big men that can’t shoot and only play above the rim are fading out.
He may not be an NBA star, but it the most NBA centers aren’t in the NBA for their above the rim play.
all due respect, Bam and Oscar’s games are nothing alike. Bam jumps out of the gym and has great ball skills for someone his size. Oscar is power, will, and great hands and as great as he is as a college player, currently the NBA doesn’t use 1st round picks on big guys like that.Bam would beg to differ.
People like WCS are drafted on potential, like the hundreds of Uber athletes get picked over better players.Seriously
So all these toothpick skinny bigs like Cauley stein are top 10 to mid first rounders but a guy with a motor and body like that and a face up jump shot to 17 feet you imagine are second round?
If that is the new nba then there is the problem
Absolutely. What's the wager? I watch the NBA all the time, Oscar may get him a 10 day contract or something but he's an overseas guy. I'll bet ya anything you wanna bet he's not a first rounder.
From everything I've been told, the NBA loses more and more interest the older you get.But if he stays one more year and develops his ball handling and shooting, he could get drafted higher which means a team will invest more time with him. If he goes this year, he likely ends up mid 2nd round an

Just my opinion, but I think Oscar would be a perfect fit on a team like the Warriors. Kevon Looney has made a living with that team and won multiple titles, and Oscar could be a rich man's KL.
That’s a fair pointFrom everything I've been told, the NBA loses more and more interest the older you get.
Also, anything he can develop in college, he can develop at the next level easier and quicker.
Charles Barkley was not a below the rim guy! For a 6’4” guy that played power forward he had ups..
Why don't you bet he doesn't get drafted at all or make an NBA roster for a full season?
Your bet is that he won't be in the first round. That's a weak bet. Double down and bet that he won't be drafted at all or end up on a one-year contract.
I doubt you feel that confident.
You comparing a fluid, explosive athlete with ball skills to a Mack truck? Those two players are not even similar except for wearing a UK jersey.Bam would beg to differ.
Why would I want a response out of anyone? Oscar has been a machine this year so far, and I love his energy and we aren't winning without him. That doesn't translate to the NBA or make him a first rounder. The guy isn't an NBA guy. Your comment of getting Oscar a 3 point shot shows how you're just being a homer. Oscar has nearly busted the backboard on several of his jump shot attempts, NO WAY on earth the guy can hit 3's, ain't happening. I'll be happy if he just finishes all of his missed 1 footers. He's a troll trying to get a response out of us. He made it a little too obvious when he went back and re-quoted my original comment after I didnt take the bait the first time
They are wrong but that's ok. I wish they could also. Thanks to our resident nba scout, deer turkey hunter for letting everyone who thinks Oscar is an nba player that they are wrong.
I wish the whole nation could watch the game through your professional lens

Agree with being strong but please don't compare to Cousins in any way, including jump shots. Cousins would outshoot Oscar everyday of the year from anywhere on the floor because Oscar really can't shoot. He can hit free throws, I'll give him that. However, when he's sped up, in game action and has to shoot, he can't hit a bull in the arse. Not sure if I'm not picking up on some sarcasm but to say Is at can't shoot is laughable. He has a solid shot even beyond the elbow at 18 feet. So he's bricked some shots? Ok...
Cousins couldn't shoot when he was at UK and look what they did with him.
I think Oscar will play in the league. He is athletic, no not an explosive leaper but athletic enough and very strong.

He leads the conference in FG%. He doesn't shoot more than 2 jumpers in any game. Can't miss as many close shots as you're acting like. He had what 4 and-1's against Vandy last week? He is pretty reliable when he decides to shoot. Why would I want a response out of anyone? Oscar has been a machine this year so far, and I love his energy and we aren't winning without him. *6A longtime friend who is also an NBA scout told me just this morning that in the old NBA Oscar would be a shoo-in but now they want bigs who can shoot the three. He might go somewhere to fill a need but likely will either come back (yay) or go overseas. After all he does speak 5 languages.
Barkley was the better player of the 2. Barkley actually played, he wasn't always hurt. In case you forgot Barkley in in the hall of fame. Williamson has to play to get there. Even with espn pushing him as the greatest ever, they won't be able to get him into the hall if he never plays.Yep, that's what made Barkley so special. Guys that big/fat/thick/strong (whatever label you want to use) aren't supposed to be that explosive. He wasn't quite Zion Williamson athletic, but he was pretty close.
******** take. Does the box score show the touch fouls he's called for when defending the name players? We tied Duke in score when Oscar was playing. The difference came from him on the bench.Oscar dominates down low against smaller guys, but struggles against guys his size
Box scores prove this.

Can't tell you how many times Oscar gets hacked with the ball in the post. Obviously I would need to since you don't see it.
His footwork, his handle, his touch is second to none among big men in college basketball. Tubby ain't walking through that door. Get on board.
LoL
I'm glad you agreed with my statement
Big guys neutralize his scoring ability
