Looks like 2024 OL Raynor Andrews is scheduled for "Tundra-time with Fran" this weekend:

3 more Jersey boys also on weekend visit.

Looks like Coach Smoke is moving on from being Irvington HS HC. According to Twitter, and I believe someone here mentioned this as well, he’s on his way to Syracuse as well.

Looks like he is pretty much the only guy on the OV that obviously had serious interest from Rutgers. This would be the first move that could possibly be notable to us.
I do have to say though, I have no idea of how Fran will do or not as a HC- but not so much Rutgers related but it seems he has been given a significant war-chest of NIL, with the recent transfers and flips he has accomplished.
I don't think our overall landscape here at Rutgers will really feel it so much but he is doing well on the recruiting path so far.

Well, he hasn't flipped yet and in this day of NIL- who knows. Though, it looks like, from the OV list- there really isn't anyone else we had much interest in.
I’m not saying he will. I’m just predicting the responses if he did flip.

Btw I don’t get the “ didn’t have interest” angle. It’s like saying you would date a beautiful woman only if she ask you out. You didn’t ask her so you didnt get rejected.

The AD Wildhack has said on record that NIL is no longer an issue for recruiting... Rumors are some whales made some big deposits to the Syracuse NIL collective contingent on Brown getting the job...

I Guess Andrew’s didn’t have an interest. Cancelled his Syracuse visit.

He said that they are in a beter place than before which is funny because the collective he was taking about started 2 months ago so I assume they had no where to go but up. Furthermore, in no way did he say "NIL is no longer an issue for recruiting". I doubt any AD would make such a stupid statement in this era of NIL.

It is pretty simple- if a kid from NY/NJ does not have an offer from Rutgers, we didn't have interest. You have a kid visiting from EH in NYC- It is a school we put a lot of effort into- if he does not have an offer from us- we took a look and we didnt feel he was a fit.

On other hand- there is a point of the fans saying didn't have interest or it wasnt committable- is just stupid at times. But if a kid is from a school we recruit heavily, and he does not have an offer from us- very high chance- we really didnt have interest.

That's two strike outs for Sarah lol. The old and new staff offered. They just couldn't get it done.

Must not be cousins of one of the coaches.

What I know is there’s articals left and right and one glance at your board suggesting that the fanbase knows they screwed up with that extension.

It’s also very strange that a Pitt fan finds his way over to a Rutgers board as regularly as you do… do you hang out over at the Penn state board as well? I’m sure they’d love you over there!

I'm over on the Rutgers board because of the discussion involving a Pitt recruit flipping.

What our Board is reporting is that NJ Pitt recruit Davin Brewton has been named NJ Defensive Player of the Year by NJ Athletics.

No one can hang out at the Penn State board since they ban almost everyone.

No longer going to engage in meaning less discussion with you where you offer no facts or data.

BYE!!!!

HAIL TO PITT!!!!

I assume it will leak out but since they are a private university it's my understanding that Syracuse does not have to offer up the details of the compensation agreements. However federal tax filings made by the university after each year end are subject to public inspection upon request and report the top paid employees of the university which typically include members of the athletic department.

Per syracuse.com... "Brown earned $800,000 this year at Georgia, according to the Athens Banner-Herald. He was tied for the fourth-highest paid position coach on Georgia's staff. It is unknown how much he will make as Syracuse’s head coach. However Babers’ last reported compensation was a little more than $4 million in 2021."

I would make an initial guess of that $4 mil mark. Not sure about staff but it does seem that someone stepped up with significant NIL for transfers and flips.

True.

What he said specifically was:

&
Additionally, Wildhack said that some donors have stepped up, “in a quiet way,” declining to provide further details here.

Then on top of that... the rumors that some whales made some big NIL deposits with the Fran hire...

Anyways, it looks like Syracuse has some money to spend to be more competitive in NIL.. what that actually means in recruits across the line, we'll see.

Lmao can’t wait to come back here next cycle for the spin jobs. “ We recruit nationally now”. The “we didn't really offer”“He waited too long” takes. If he waited too long it means he never wanted to go to rutgers in the first place. Lol.

With a billion laughs. Lol

What do you call your 1300 Syracuse posts in the last 2 weeks in your boards? The SU thread has never had that type of rate. That’s awesome work. How do you guys do it? I’m jealous.

There was only about 500 post and probably 20-30% of them were from the little orange men from the Iceland. It sounds you’re going to keep coming back each years to brag about recruits like we care. You now have 10 players that have left for the transfer portal.

Quick quip on NIL offerings - When informed of his daughter's engagement via a telephone call, her father simply asked, "Did you get a ring or a promise?". Time will tell....

I'm thinking Fran's a little less than $4M being a 1st time HC given these reported ACC salaries per College Sports Wire.

I'm kinda hoping he succeeds a little bit. It's never too early to look at Schiano's replacement when he retires and if this guy proves himself, which is highly unlikely, he'd be one of the candidates given he can recruit. If he can be successful in the junior leagues there is a chance he can do it the big league.

sometimes- not really a spin. Though, I am sure there will actually be a time or two where a kid does select Cuse over Rutgers...It does happen.
But, we do recruit national. And only priority recruits get to "wait to long" or a 2nd tier guy who finds a spot open because of a late flip. Though- WTL often no longer applies with NIL as a factor. So often- kids are just going to wait for the highest bidder.

He should have a successful 2024 season given they don't play Clemson, FSU, Louisville nor North Carolina in conference.

NIL aside, there's also nothing Rutgers can do if a recruit doesn't want to challenge themselves and commit to compete in the best conference opportunity available to them whether that's the BIG Ten, SEC or Big 12. McCord and Caden Brown, who's a Syracuse legacy whom I'm expecting to verbal to Cuse, could be 2 such examples.

Not the junior league, the minor league like baseball. It would be funny if we stole him 3-4 years down the road. By that time, we will be paying $8-10 million for a head coach. Having the advantage being in the Big Ten and getting $30-40 million more than an ACC team helps. 3 or 4 years, the ACC might not exist.

Good baseball analogy. It's like playing for the Syracuse AAA Mets waiting for that call up to the big leagues.

If the Syracuse trolls weren’t here the thread would have died 2 weeks ago.

Again I have to ask people that go and post on other teams sites. Why???

I never felt the need to go to another teams site, (especially one we do not share a conference, not on the schedule) much less post.

NYS doesnt come no where close to the amount of P5 prospects NJ has. Su has to recuit nationally every year. No one is praising them for that
