32 thoughts today speculates Devs dont want him unless he agrees to extension. And theres questions whether he wants to stay in NJ long term and thats the hang up

He hasn’t even discussed extensions with any teams so not sure where the speculation he possibly doesn’t want to sign in NJ is coming from….

He’s on record saying he’d love to play with Hischier in the NHL.

If that’s all that Fitzgerald does, prepare for a quick exit

Henrique is a shell of his Devils self.

Every fanbase in every sport in every year should be prepared for a quick exit.

Half the teams that make the playoffs suffer a quick exit.

We should all be prepared.

Nothing has shown we're going to be easily beatable.

Rangers have gotten much better for the playoffs recently.

Devils have a glaring weakness on defense with Smith and Bahl. Neither is suited for winning playoff hockey.

Another red flag is not having a legit scoring wing on Jack’s line.

If Fitzgerald stands pat, they are out in 4 or 5.

If he adds a MccCabe and Meier , they have a chance

All good. I’m just stating facts.

Westfield is great. Loving it and yes, train is great. Main reason I moved here for train access

If he stands pat the Rangers should be favored but by no means it is certain they will whip us or even beat us, we have matched up well with them all season, if anything we've taken it to them with our speed.

No idea how any Devils fan can hate this year's team like you do, it's unfathomable lol.

We have a great chance as is if we play the rangers. While rangers certainly have the experience, they w been unable to solve our speed most of the season which will give them trouble.

As of now I’d give the slight edge to the Rangers just due to their playoff experience…but I don’t think it’s going to be the laugher you’re expecting if we don’t do anything at the deadline.

It is a fact that 50% of the playoff teams suffer early exits.

So yes…be prepared.

As I said above..Rangers would have SLIGHT edge. If NJ gets Meier, I’d say it’s a toss up.
Don't forget the Luke factor, I think they're going to find a spot for him.

Rangers are much better today than earlier this season.

Devils have glaring weaknesses that need to be addressed

I don’t hate the team but I see the weaknesses and want them corrected before a 5 game 1st round exit and seeing you post about how they exceeded expectations and congratulating the nyr fans

I want the team to win !

They have been winning. They’re the 3rd best team in the league.

If anything…shows just how great they are that they’re continuing to win with such a glaring weakness.

We've also had injuries all season and are now getting healthy, we've also been one of the best Road Warriors in the history of the league and historically great road teams have been tough to beat.

And you don't think they have exceeded expectations?? 😂

And no clue what you're talking about congratulating Rangers fans, that's been you lol

You know In the playoffs they play 1 team.
The rangers probably, who just acquired an elite forward

Fitzgerald MUST acquire a veteran 6th defenseman better than Smith and a top line wing for Jack. That will hopefully bump Tatar out into street clothes too

If you don’t see this prepare for an ugly 1st round exit. If you’re fine with that so be it

And injuries.

I will say one thing about the Rangers that gets me jealous the most about them is how durable they are. Especially their top players.

He who hesitates is lost. While I would welcome Henrique back, I think Fitz will look at Chicago first, and try to get Domi.

It has been clear for awhile, Mike Grier was slow walking the process. If Fitzgerald had made a secondary move, maybe Mike Grier moves the process along.

I agree. I’d give the Rangers the edge if we don’t make a move. I’ve said it above.

I don’t think it will be ugly though. We’ll see.

No to Domi

Already on his 5th team. Prob not the best locker room fella.

Yeah, a rookie with no pro experience should step right in , absorb big hits and play flawless.

Don’t need him to play flawless. He will likely be on the 3rd pairing. But no doubt he’s be an upgrade over Smith or Bahl.

Makar stepped right in in 2019 and had a great postseason. Don’t wanna compare him to Makar..but there’s no reason to say he CANT do it

He should definitely be an upgrade to those two but I’d still like to see McCabe or Schenn acquired in case Luke has trouble adjusting.

Makar 1-goal, 6 points in 10 games that playoffs after Umass.

But weren’t you arguing that Devils need playoff experienced veterans? Why would you scratch a playoff experiences veteran?

Your argument seems all over the place.

My case is clear
Read again

A top line wing for Jack
An vet upgrade to Smith & Bahl

Tatar is not a top line wing nor a defenseman

Try concentrating when reading.

+3 with a game winning goal. Using offensive stats to rate a defenseman’s performance isn’t the way to go.

I’m shocked to see that stat. He’s not passing the eye test

If your eye test is only goals and assists. Of course tw isn’t

He does all the little things right. He’ll be a 3rd liner in the playoffs if we hopefully stay healthy. He’s exactly the kind of guy we need as a 3rd liner

Yeah like turning it over at the point on a Power play and then taking a penalty because of it last game
