Looks like the penny pinching has started with LIV.
According to Shipnuck, there are new travel policies in place. Before, LIV covered the travel/hotel costs of everyone involved. Now, they are making the teams foot the bills. For this year, they were given a stipend but the plan is for 2024, the travel costs for caddies and players have to be paid by the golfers out of team funds won by the team.
For example, Koepka is allotting a lump sum for travel for each player on his team. If that player burns through it, he's then on the hook to cover travel expenses out of his own pocket.
Conversely, the PGA Tour looks to change the format of some, if not all of their designated events, going to a small field with no cut. Apparently, the policy board's decision has had mixed reactions from some golfers as well as media types, etc.
