As a Bills, fan my confidence level in Josh Allen has never been lower than it is now. Has regressed for the last 2 seasons without Brian Daboll and is a turnover machine now. Inexcusable Ints and a terrible loss blowing a 10 point lead to a Zach Wilson led team.

Well, with all the rain and what not, got to my seat a few minutes late. Worked my way down the row, got to my seat, turn around to watch my first play and bam he got hurt. It doesn’t get more Jet than that. Place was electric, and a lot of fun. I hope the next four games I kept are as fun. A win is a win.

I was watching some you tube videos and saw one from a doctor who gave a small bit of hope that it is something called a planteris tendon injury, which is a calf tendon that can pop like the Achilles but is not nearly as important to function as an Achilles. Saleh seemed pretty sure it was an Achilles after the game, though,

This reminds me of the the dentist guy over on our basketball board . He swore mawot mag’s injury was not an acl - he saw many of these types of injuries and went to dental school. So he would know !

You could tell the second he did it it was an achillies. Didnt twist foot it planted it stretched and it tore. You can tell by the way his foot stayed flexed up. Now all that matters if it is a complete rupture or tear. If it was complete they'd know right away. The 2nd sign was xrays were negative and was in a boot which may mean not a complete tear as if complete I'd imagine he'd be on crutches but at that point does it really matter it's not like you could do more damage to achillies. Either way going surgery.

Another year in which my team does not see superbowl except on TV with me. At least A Rodgers brought some receivers with him. Dam shame Oline sucks

Anyway it may be just a sprain/pull of the achilles?

Who would've thought A Rodgers best play as a Jet would have been running out the American Flag. Sad very sad

Everyone appears to believe it was the Achilles, and they would know from examining him. Even the guy in the video I watched didn’t say it wasn’t the Achilles.

I was just surprised to hear that there is something else that can cause that bulging of the calf, because I am 60 and never in my life heard of that injury.

There wasnt alot it could be otherwise. 100% was not an ankle sprain zero twisting. The only thing it could be would be achillies or calf. The achillies will go before calf would especially with his foot flexing like it did. As soon as he stood up and rolled back I told my friend I was on the phone with he just tore his achillies. He was saying no it's his ankle....I'm like not a chance it's his achillies. Could he have broken a bone yes but think it would have been unlikely. They knew in the tent it was his achillies especially if it was complete rupture and he would have told them straight up it was his achillies

I know 4 guys that tore their achillies and they knew instantly was there for 2 of them 3 playing softball and get this one playing golf. 3 of them told me loud pop but I think the brain tells your body that. Tore both my hamstring within weeks of each other playing softball like 5 yrs ago. 1st one popped didn't know it was torn until I played 3 more game and it popped with my leg in air swinging. Lasted 1 inning in those 3 games...called it a yr went to watch our DH'r the next week guy left after 1st game was begged to play...you can play 1st they said. So I played and ground ball hit in hole between 1st & 2nd no stability in my left leg planted with right it slid out all my weight fell over right leg. Tore it from my knee to my ***. Heard it tear the whole way will never forget that ripping sound. Completely black & blue from ankle to butt. Ironically the left leg never blacked I guess because it just snapped

Sorry guys – Astroturf is about owner, saving on maintenance costs given the use of their fields. Sport should be played on natural grass. I applied players like Messi and Zlatan including contract requirements to only played on grass surfaces.

The technology is there for grass to be installed, and Moved in sections, so a permanent surface can be available for concerts, etc.

Kansas City has technology that includes heated grass fields to keep snow off the field in the late winter months…

Met life will go grass for the World Cup in 2026. Maybe they will leave it just like they did at the old giants stadium - although that grass sucked

A guy behind me said the same thing. I’m sure it was a common thought. I was in 213.

What QB will take the most snaps for the Jets this year?
-Zach Wilson
-Tim Boyle
-Matt Ryan
-Philip Rivers
-Tom Brady
-Carson Wentz
Somebody else?

I don't see how they try to ride with Zach Wilson for a full season. Wouldn't mind them taking a run at Ryan.

Even if they wanted to they won’t get a full season out of anyone behind that OL. Wilson looked dazed after one of the hits he took last night.

His Jet career lasted FOUR snaps. FOUR. And how about all of those people who drafted him 1st in their fantasy league?

I think no chance for Rivers or Brady, but who knows?

Would be shocked if it's Boyle. Wilson is more likely than Boyle IMO.

Ryan or Wentz are possible, as are Nick Foles or Colt McCoy. Could even run it back with Joe Flacco.

It is already coming out that, although the Jets line IS bad, that there was a difference in philosophy that caused problems.

The announcers mentioned on one of the first plays where Becton’s guy pressured Rodgers, that Becton cut block which is supposed to get the D Lineman low to clear a quick throw by the QB. Only, Rodgers likes to extend the play and doesn’t always want to make that quick throw. When he does the O lineman is on the ground and his man is free to get at the QB.

Sure enough, on the play he got hurt Duane Brown cut his guy, Rodgers held onto the ball, and that guy was the one that got Rodgers.

I thought they brought in OC Hackett because he was Rodgers’ guy?

Okay, I didn't want to even comment in this thread. But I can't help myself, so bear with me.

I wasn't in favor of the Rodgers trade at any time. I just don't have faith in a 39 YO NFL player - even a HOFer. Rodgers is due $80 million over the next two years, so now the team is basically screwed until his contract expires.

This was so predictable. I would have taken this bet in a heartbeat: Odds that Rodgers goes down with a terrible injury were vastly greater than him tossing 40 TDS. Or 30 TDs.

Okay, done. Back to being a Jets fan.

Jets have a long history of signing players past their prime

Just the HOF players who got in a year or two on the way out:

Brett Favre
Ronnie Lott
Jason Taylor
LaDainian Tomlinson
Ed Reed
Ty Law
Steve Atwater
Alan Faneca
Art Monk

While the Jet's did get "JETS" on this one- there is nothing in AR's career that made a season ending injury predictable.
Even the sack itself- that sack could happen 100 times and 99 times out of them, he pops up for the next play.

The odds of 30+ TD's was much higher than this happening.

And the one that most resembles this latest disaster. After losing to the Broncos in the AFC Championship game with Parcells as coach and Vinnie from Elmhurst as the QB, awe we’re psyched for the promise of the new season. First snap of opening game, Vinnie ruptures his Achilles. We are cursed, no other explanation.

NY Jets are the only team in NFL history to have hired a Future Hall of Fame HC who never coached a game for them and started a Future Hall of Fame QB who never completed a pass for them.

“I resign as the HC of the NYJ” Written on a paper napkin.
