Looks like there were some extra curricular activities at a recent Hartfield basketball game.

A Most Scholarly Debate
I haven’t been in many HS gyms lately, but are students normally close to the end line? So, in that second video, that is an Oak Forest parent that walks all the way across the floor to the HArtfield side......
I don't know....but that would appear to be a mistake waiting to happen. I know I have been at MRA and they park a coach (or dean of students) in front of the student section at end of court, and they allow them to be students **up to a point**I haven’t been in many HS gyms lately, but are students normally close to the end line?
Lol. Not Oak Forest, but not too far away. Our football team had to be escorted by the local Sheriff’s Dept from their field to our locker room/bus at Silliman once. We just went in the locker room, got our stuff, and got out of town, all with full pads/helmet still on. The coaches let us take our helmet and pads off once we got off campus.Hartfield parents should have stayed composed b/c if you have been in private school sports long enough around here, on would know that Oak Forest parents are going to do Oak Forest Louisiana kinda things (**such as throw stuff @ buses, cause referees to need police escorts to get away, etc.....)
Ive officiated at Sill8man and Oak Forest many times. I personally have never had issues, but I know several officials who have.Lol. Not Oak Forest, but not too far away. This was a while ago, 2002 IIRC. Maybe they’ve gotten better since then, maybe they haven’t. Pretty funny looking back on it, though.Ive officiated at Sill8man and Oak Forest many times. I personally have never had issues, but I know several officials who have.
Sometimes, depends on the gym.I haven’t been in many HS gyms lately, but are students normally close to the end line?
I've seen fans kicked out of 7 year old baseball, 8 year old softball, and HS football all in the last year. It’s starting to make me dislikesports. PEOPLE
I don’t know….natural T calms you down. It’s the surge that makes you do dumb stuff. Remember it’s the dads that are fighting.I tell my boys all the time…..testosterone makes you stupid.
How embarrassing. Those poor kids that tried to intervene and make GROWN MEN stop acting like toddlers.
It’s been decades since I’ve been there but I always got weird vibes at Silliman.Lol. Not Oak Forest, but not too far away. My vanity won't let me say how long ago this was(I was in high school on the basketball team), but walking into Oak Forrest for a basketball game I remarked how crappy the gym was and the ticket lady in an angry tirade tried to kick me out before I got into the gym. They had those terrible 60s clay tile floors.Lol. Not Oak Forest, but not too far away. Would it have been early 90's? I only played there once and it was a tile floor. Our locker room amounted to what could be considered a janitors closet. I also remember we were advised to put our wallets and valuables in a zip lock bag so our assistant coach could keep them on the bench. My vanity won't let me say how long ago this was(I was in high school on the basketball team), but walking into Oak Forrest for a basketball game I remarked how crappy the gym was and the ticket lady in an angry tirade tried to kick me out before I got into the gym. I went down there last year to watch my son play and was expecting to have to fight my way out. Definitely a different vibe down there (add Silliman to that feeling well).
Man, that rings true, except I would say it's bimodal. Lots of them are the best, and you can understand exactly how they made it out. But yeah, lots of them are the worst.one of the comments mentioned "new money" in regards to Hartfield. It reminds me of a saying a former co-worker had, "the first generation out of the trailer park is the worst."
I know people showed their *** about youth sports when I was younger, but I cannot believe it was as bad as it is now. Somehow youth sports is where people decide to be the worst version of themselves.I've seen fans kicked out of 7 year old baseball, 8 year old softball, and HS football all in the last year. Its starting to make me dislike sports.
There are many commenters on FB who say that is not true, but who knows?Terrible situation. People are too invested in sports sometimes.
From the JJ comments:
The Oak Forest player's mother had recently died, and the Hartfield students were heckling about it. Yes - his dead mother. This is yet another example of Hartfield being a low class place with poor leadership.
Referee facilities were not better. Broom closet with one small bench. Literally.Silliman had the worst visitors facilities for football out of all the places I ever played
They were crossing the court to fight each other. Didn't you watch the video?**You have to ask yourself, where are the white fathers?
always the usual suspects of this thug gang mentality, we need metal detectors and mental detectors now, this is why flowood is no longer safe to visitCulture rot
These people need help
I still find it incredibly incompetent (even by Clarion Ledger standards) that not one reporter in the mainstream Mississippi print media acknowledged this incident while this fine young man was playing football at Ole Miss. What does any of this have to do with that OM player that liked to stick his finger in other players' bums?
Sillliman is way worse than anything 95% other schools could ever imagine.Lol. Not Oak Forest, but not too far away. They haven't! I graduated at Amite School Center in 2001.This was a while ago, 2002 IIRC. Maybe they’ve gotten better since then, maybe they haven’t. Pretty funny looking back on it, though.
You are still a moron. Now yall see why Hartfield wants to stay MAIS. All about beating up on lesser advantaged teams.
You don't know if this is true or not though.Terrible situation. People are too invested in sports sometimes.
