I think our threads pickup more traffic during the evening times; it is sometimes very slow, unfortunately. Not sure how to make it more appealing - I guess some questions are just more fan-friendly to guess at than others.

And yes, Billy King and Kevin Strickland is correct.

Good question!! The Secretary of Defense, Billy King, who put the clamps on many, including Temple's Mark Macon in the NCAA Tournament...

Correct. I thought that one would take awhile.

A member of the same class as Jim Spanarkel, Harold Morrison, Scott Goetsch and Steve Gray. He's 6-9. Got some starts in 1977 but lost his starting spot to Morrison. Had some back problems and dropped off the team early in the 1977-;78 season, the year Duke went to the title game. I've always wondered if he wishes he could have toughed it out.

Ok here goes:What team was the last one Coach K actively coached against in the '94-'95 season, as back problems forced him to the sidelines?

Nice!

Since the ACC Tournament began in 1954, a school from North Carolina has made it to the finals every year except once. What year was it, and what two schools played in the final?

Thanks! It's crazy to think about that stat - I mean, how is that even possible? 62 out of 63 times? Absurd.

I'll follow suit on what sgrooms said but pick UVa and Georgia Tech. No clue on year. I do remember Bobby Cremins winning a Title.

I'll give you credit for this, as Bobby Cremins was the coach in 1990 when Georgia Tech defeated Virginia. Brian Oliver was the Tournament MVP.

We touched on this earlier in this thread, but Georgia Tech had 3 players on the 1990 team averaging more than 20 ppg - Brian Oliver, Kenny Anderson, and Dennis Scott . I can't help but wonder if that's the only time it's happened in NCAA history.

You're up, Dad2ze.

Who is the only World Series MVP to play on a losing team and what team won the series that year?

I'm still mad at Stengel for not tweaking his rotation so that Ford starts games 1, 4 and 7

One of the main reasons he was fired. And should have been

Actually met Bobby years ago at Wake Forest University speaking at a Southern Baptist Youth Conference. I have his autograph somewhere back home amongst my other crap.

Seemed like Jason Williams had 34 or so back in 2001 against UCLA. But given how many tournament games we've actually played, I would imagine the record is a bit higher than 34.

We have a winner. Jeff Mullins scored 43 points against Villanova in the 1964 East Regional. Mullins had 28 points at the half, including a half-court runner at the buzzer.

Mullins shot 19 for 28 from the field.

Duke defeated the seventh-ranked Wildcats 87-73. The game was played three miles from where I currently live, at Reynolds Coliseum.

Buckin Thx ...but I give credit to yourself friend...I will go ahead and lay one out there though....

I know I have heard reports Coach K considered sitting out one game as a means of protest in his career at Duke....Does anyone remember what triggered his displeasure and who we we played? (For the record of course he did coach)

Sky I will go ahead then,..

2007 -The ACC not only suspended Gerald Henderson for the the controversial Hansbrough foul for one game, they went one step further. Hendo was prohibited from sitting on the team bench for the game also...

It was later reported Coach K nearly sat out the ACC tourney opener himself vs NC State, in protest of the conference banning G from sitting on the bench...

Buckin, you got the Mullins question Jim posed too friend- you are up!! OFC

You said them... So I'll go with 3. lol I have no idea.

Schools from Indiana, Louisiana, Georgia, and Texas haven't won a whole lot of titles lately.
