Thx Sky, just lucky...Name the coach (and his team) who predicted the Duke mens hoops team would fall to Villanova in the '78 regional championship final? (Devils whipped the 'Cats of course and advanced to St Louis!)

OFC
I'm gonna guess Digger Phelps, Notre Dame, only cause I hate that smug SOB.

OK. My second guess is Jack Craft from URI, because he had been Nova's coach previously Rollie was Nova's coach in '78, I think.

Again a good guess Will...still looking....This coach was pretty intense in his disdain for our squad....Bulletin board material was great!

Without checking it out, I cannot tell you the name of the coach, but it has to be the coach of Rhode Island, who Duke barely beat in the opening game in 1978. OFC

Weinhauer compared Duke to lumbering elephants.

I'll throw out an easy one.

Name the Duke player who scored in double figures in every one of his games at Duke. Three-year player.

I don't know if there is factual evidence of this or not but, who is rumored to have done the first reverse dunk in NCAA history?

Dennard is rumored to have done it first, right after tip off of an NCAAT game in Raleigh I think it was.

Your turn again Hart to Chesson.

Jeff Mullins scored in double figures in all 86 of his Duke games. That is the ACC record for consecutive games scoring in double figures.

Danged it I was going to say that but I couldn't imagine Heyman not hitting double figures. OFC

Thanks Buckin....

Name two kids Coach K narrowly missed out on who opted for St.Johns in the early 80s? (K's program was in its infancy and he was trying to establish things-which he did rather nicely I believe, lol)

Something along the lines of "Don't worry, I got this."

A follow-up on Mullin and Wennington. One of their St. John's teammates has a son who currently plays in the ACC. Name the father and the son.

Ok, Jim Sumner's question is still on the table, but I will go ahead and throw one on the table....
Name the guard who left after Bill Foster's first year at Duke, upset over his playing status??

Nobody.

Rick Gomez left after Foster's second year. Barely played and barely remembered.

But I suspect you're aiming for Kenny Young, who stayed two years and was in the rotation, off the bench. Demanded to start and when reminded that Duke's starting guards were Tate Armstrong and Jim Spanarkel, he decided to try elsewhere. Bucknell, I believe.

Had he stayed, he would have gotten dibs on the vacancy that opened up with Armstrong's broken wrist. Instead, Steve Gray got the nod and was not ready for prime time.

Interesting speculation. Had Young stayed and played well after Armstrong's injury in '77, does he hold off Harrell and Bender as a senior incumbent in 1978?

Since no one has bit on my St. John's question, I'll give the answer. Maverick Rowan's father Ron played for that great 1985 St. John's team that included Chris Mullin, Bill Wennington, Walter Berry and Mark Jackson.

Name the first school to ever produce three first-round picks in the same draft. Who were those 3 players?
