I also have a VZW Mi-Fi with an unlimited data plan.
I honestly know next to nothing about hot spots and stuff. How much value do you find in those types of devices?
Son of a b. First I'm hearing of this. Got the iPhone first day it was available on Verizon & the unlimited data for $30/mo ever since. I'm going to have to figure out whether it's worth it to keep it or stop averaging 11 gigs/month.
wait-what? I have a 10gig plan (with an extra 1 promo) and is that going up?
Funny how they can send email after email about upgrading to an new phone early but nothing about change of pricing (if that is the case)... 1 reason I do not like paperless billing.
What is the deal with upgrading the phone? Can we now get a new phone or do we still have to have to one at face value? We keep the unlimited plan for only the grandfathered people, but they're raising that unlimited package from $29.99 to $49.99.
Norton's opinion on hotspots...most people don't need these any more, since they typically have the capability built in to their phone.I honestly know next to nothing about hot spots and stuff. How much value do you find in those types of devices?

Pandora and videos/movie streaming. As a college student I often have a few hours between classes and so I watch a movie or re-watch one of our games on ESPN3, etc. One month I used 105 GB. I never bother with wifi hotspots, etc. How?!?
Three cheers for taking it up the you-know-what next month when we get our $20 increases!
I have it and screw them.. Unlimited data and unlimited hotspot, which I use all of the time for work and family bothThree cheers for taking it up the you-know-what next month when we get our $20 increases!
It costs an ISP around 1-3 cents for a gig of data... They are straight robbing people.
I figured it wouldn't last forever. Damn!
As more and more people unplug traditional tv service and flock to streaming services, look for the cost of Internet access to skyrocket folks.
Biggest downside of unlimited is that you can't tether off you phone.
I am watching T-Mobile very closely. They are currently deploying equipment on their towers that is head and shoulder better quality then what Verizon or AT&T has. They maybe about two years away to rivaling them on area covered but where they do have coverage it can't be beat.I know that TMobile's coverage still isn't as good, but man am I paying a lot less and I've got no real complaints about the service. Like, a lot less.
i'm sure they're profiting but its a business isn't it? Sometimes people amaze me how they expect everything to be free.It costs an ISP around 1-3 cents for a gig of data... They are straight robbing people.
Don't blame the company because you (& I & most people) don't read your ebill.wait-what? I have a 10gig plan (with an extra 1 promo) and is that going up?

No. You will still have your unlimited data but it will cost $20 more per month.Hold on I am not sure if I am following. I still have my Verizon 4s with unlimited data. Like many people here, I never upgraded to keep my unlimited service.
Are you saying next month we will no longer have the unlimited data plan and we will have to pay an addition $20 a month?
I currently use 12gigs of data a month.
I don't know about that Mr. Legere but the facts show a different story, as Verizon has continuously won the network quality awards for years by a large margin, including the 1st half of 2015 by RootMetrics, where Verizon dominated overall performance, network reliability, call, data & network speed nationally, by state & metro area. No one was close in overall performance or network reliability. Google is your friend.I am watching T-Mobile very closely. Yeah, if Verizon & AT&T didn't invest tens of billions of $ each year in network, they'd all be Sprint & TMO with limited coverage & lesser reliability but yay it would be cheaper for subpar service.i'm sure they're profiting but its a business isn't it? These companies have huge overhead and capital investments
Recently dumped a 3-line Verizon plan for 5-line Cricket plan and now paying $100 all in per month. It's not as good, but the 60%+ cost savings was a no brainer for me and the service works pretty well, surprisingly.Internet access is the new crack, and they know it. What we need to do is start switching over to the cheap carriers en masse. Their networks may not be as robust (which is a pain in the ***), but the big boys have to be put in a position where they're competing for our business with lower priced providers. Make market forces work for US.
