I don't follow NASCAR , but his name is easily reconized by me as one of stock car racing greats.
RIP Mr .Yarborough, you made your mark in the sport you were part of and helped make popular all across the USA.

As a kid, he was NASCAR to me. His brawl with Bobby Allison was responsible for growing the brand tremendously...

I used to follow NASCAR but when Gordon, Dale jr, and Stewart all retired close together I lost interest. It is as much a personality based sport as anything and losing those 3 really hurt.

Then you get into how badly the people who run the sport have screwed it up.

You can't forget my favorite, Rusty Wallace. Especially in the that beautiful Miller Genuine Draft car nicknamed Midnight.
