We need to break up as a country asap…we won’t last as a unit very long. America is over. Our differences are irreconcilable.

One thing has nothing to do with the other. Seems reasonable to me, with no down side. Aspiring football players aren’t going to pursue swimming instead due to this were it to pass.
How is it reasonable? It’s more policy based on “feels”. Zero data behind this. And your idea kids won’t pursue something else is false. By brothers town has two youth programs. One has tackle for little kids one doesn’t. The one with tackle has far superior numbers. Also, I know towns that don’t offer tackle and they lose kids to club lax.

I'm a state dyphoric. I'm a CA person who was born in a NY body.
Its practically a Garden of Eden out there and I think it helps people zone-out.
Having been at USMA a lot, I meet cadet families from all over and CA people are always nice.
The Jets and Giants players from CA are usually easy to like people (Leonard Williams, Darnold, Sanchez ).
Then the corporate tycoons and pols are often like leaders from Rococo France just before French Rev.
Just twerps with no sense chasing unicorns and fairies

No. The Leftists do not get gifted a part of The United States. If need be CWII it is.

Are you ready to kill a neighbor or perhaps half the people on this board because they vote differently than you? That's essentially what you're advocating for with CWII.

Dude's too old and lazy to actually be involved. He'll just sit in his recliner yelling about how pussified younger gens are for not fighting the "good" fight ...until he doses off and forgets where he is.

Ca is close to being a failed state. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Hope you boys do t mind bailing Ca out. Finances are a disaster.

Saving all of these tent cities are going to take money.

They had a budget surplus in 2022. How bad is it, really?
They actually didn’t. Even 5-10 years ago when Ca used to brag about their big surplus it was all a big lie due to unfunded liabilities. Now they can’t even lie about that anymore. Their big surplus lie has been blown wide
open and its now an admitted $68B deficit. The biggest deficit in American history for a state. Ca will be the first state to ever need a bailout. The end of the road is close and that can has been kicked as far as possible. Good thing illegals now receive free healthcare. That helped a ton. Businesses leaving en mass due to a horrible business climate isn’t helping.

I see things on the streets her now I’ve only seen in places like Mumbai. I’ve driven through Managua and San Salvador and never saw what I see in downtown LA. People that don’t live here understand how badly this state has and is being run. It’s a disaster that is only getting worse.

Sadly, I think this is inevitable....sooner than many of us think. We've been F'd over by both republicans a d Democrats who have sold us out to many foreign governments. The only way out ion this mess (low probability) is if the American people decide to start getting rid of these swamp creatures who go into government to get rich.

Idiot take for all see.

no data, huh ? is there data showing cigarettes are bad for three year olds ? does data show suntan lotion prevents skin cancer in newborns?

data does show progressive debilitation and it doesn’t magically start at a later age. It starts on day 1.

In addition, if kids do switch to lacrosse due to this, which is a dubious claim anyway, so what ?

The world doesn’t revolve around football. Let kids learn gaming, guitar, fencing, pottery making, whatever. A thousand years ago gladiators fought lions, and then this ‘sport’ died out. By feel. The world survived. People chose other activities instead.

So you need to ban hockey, lax, and rugby as well. Let California worry about childhood gender studies and surgery and let everyone parent their own kids. And no there is no data saying youth football is an issue. In fact, data says there are way more concussions in soccer

People on this board are ridiculous Why don’t you ask pop warner coaches what they think ? That’s what I did. I have spoken to 2 friends about this now and both think it’s a good idea. And these are people that played collegiate and had their own kids start tackling at 8.
I am sure there will be coaches and parents against this too . But I was really surprised when these guys told me it’s a good idea to start tackling later.

I wonder how many adults are having issues because of Pop Warner football or is it the fact that every college and pro football player just happened to start at 9 or 10.

I would rather have my 10y/o play tackle then my 20 y/o
The actual injuries that happen before 12 are going to happen playing flag or soccer. And hockey is worse of all

You have a great resource to ask about this proposed law.

I played tackle football at 8 …and my brain still works fine obviously. It allowed me to make some legendary message board calls :)

Yes then ban those too. Civilization will survive. People will find other things to do.

Besides, absence of some sensible laws is not a reason to oppose other sensible laws.

They were able to clean up the one area of San Francisco, because the president of China was coming in, and they admitted that’s why they did it.

You’re going to tell me that they can’t continue to do that to San Francisco, and Los Angeles as well, and that does that doesn’t take priority over this law?

How many kids will this be affecting versus how many people are negatively affected by the **** holes that both San Fran and LA have become
I don't get the either/or approach. Why can't both be done?

It can be done
Gov said as much and said he cleaned it up bc Xi was coming over

But the priorities, whether well intended or not, remain in other areas
Why residents of these areas tolerate this is beyond me
As long as they keep that stuff out of surburbia though, it’s fine by me

I don’t need to ask. I helped run a town program for the last 9 years. We grew that program to over 300 kids fielding multiple teams at every single age. My kid is in HS now but our 8th grade year we had enough 8th graders to field 3 teams. We offer free camps twice a week in the summer and routinely get 70 plus kids under the age of 10 to come out. I am also friends with some of the best HS coach’s in NJ. I don’t know one person who is concerned about the safety of a 9 year old playing football. In those years we played in multiple leagues ranging from weighted, to non weighted, to games against the top pop Warner programs in NJ. In countless league meetings injuries concerns were always at the forefront but the safety of the little ones was never a concern. And The stats prove it. Maybe your 2 friends are the outliers.

It's bad Andy, $68 billion in the hole and they just added another $1.5 billion on top of that burden to taxpayers by insuring all illegal immigrants. They spent like drunken sailors and now their taxpayers are going to pay the price.

You can’t look at someone who played college or pro ball that has head issues and blame it on starting before 12. The real damage is the additional 10+ years of taking the real hits from 250+ lb monsters

While I'm no Trump fan boy, at least he talks like he wants to fix the uniparty swamp. If he's stopped, well we're running out of boxes...
