Fact Check: USAID sent $2M to Guatemala, but not just for gender-affirming health care
In 2024, USAID awarded a $2 million grant to an LGBTQ+ rights organization in Guatemala called Asociación Lambda. That grant was issued to "strengthen trans-led organizations to deliver gender-affirming health care, advocate for improve quality and access to services, and provide economic empowerment opportunities."

Nothing in the above paragraph is justified. NOTHING.

Only $350,000 has been spent which is $350,000 too much.

But either A) they don't spend the rest and DOGE saved tax payers $1.65 million

or B) you think they should give the rest to Asociacion Lambad.

Not a civil, but my dad was, and I worked a lot with him. I remember him talking about the fact that expanding lanes is not always a solution. Reason being that depending on flow/volume of traffic expanding lanes can just lead to all the extra lanes filled up and just as backed up as the fewer lanes. I don't know all the details except that it's not always best to expand the number of lanes.

Sometimes it's not, but sometimes it is. See Hwy 49 through Richland and Florence. It helped that flow a lot.

The most stupid dysfunctional project I've seen is the Reunion Extension bridge across I55 without making it an interchange and please spare me the bullshiit excuse "well they're going to do that when they make I55 6 lanes" . Gluckstadt Rd has exits on to I55 and it's not 6 lanes now. They're literally building a bridge to nowhere. 17ing clowns.

They did know they would eventually put on- and off-ramps, but the federal money to widen I-55 was going to take longer than the money from MDOT and locals to build the road and bridge. So they went ahead and started building it to relieve some of the east-west traffic on 463 and Gluckstadt Roads in the meantime. Now, the money is apparently sitting there ready to start widening 55, so they have moved that timeframe up.

It does sort of makes sense. It's not the worst thing in the world for them to go ahead and get it done. I'm glad that road is about to be completed - the sooner the better for a lot of people that go between east and west Madison. The eventual ramps onto 55 will be nice to have too.

What trap? My post provided information showing your claims were misleading halftruths.
I also very clearly and directly acknowledged that it is reasonable to have a discussion over whether or not the US should provide funding to those programs(and other aid programs). I simply expect discussion to be accurate, and you were being inaccurate.

To directly answer your questions in the post above...

And once again- look at what this thread is actually about. You forced a couple of obscure USAID projects into the discussion because you cant help but bring them up when you start rambling about government bloat and waste, even when it has nothing to do with USAID. Anything you dislike is 'wasteful' spending and is then somehow evidence of waste, fraud, and corruption elsewhere too.
