You said that Deion you don’t see why he is a good coach or whatever you meant by your statement even though he had a great three years at Jackson. No matter where and what level he did this, it’s an accomplishment since they weren’t good in the at least 5 years before he arrived.

CU is far different than Jackson St but as I said to another poster, he may be a great coach and do real well. I'd wager he's out in 5 given the odds are against him but happy to be wrong if and when that happens
Can’t imagine him leaving for Gators. Noles, of course….. anyway, I’d love to see the buyout terms here. CU athletics is also being subsidized by a few gambling companies with first or their kind deals.
Talking to a friend before this was finalized that hypothetically if prime wanted to come here the school should fire Greg on the spot to hire him.

He’ll get some talent but I wouldn’t take it as a given that he’ll excel. Maybe yes, maybe no. That’s why I say I’m curious to see how he does. Coaches that are able to get talent don’t automatically win at a high level and sometimes not even at an average level. It will be fun to see how Colorado unfolds though.

First, he has to stem the tide of transfers out of the program. Guys were leaving because the old HC made the environment toxic. Next, talent will follow him but he better have a quality staff to coach these kids.
Sanders only needs to win at least 4 or 5 games in year one. The program was at rock bottom.
For the experts who think CU can not raise money to pay for Sanders' salary or the NIL are fooling themselves. Colorado people may seem indifferent, but when they have something to get behind they open up their wallets. They don't sh*t on the program like NJ folks.

Yes, it’s the kind of thing you’d see on Hard Knocks, but it is interesting to see it in real time for a college team.
Also, when you consider his connection to Under Armour and CU’s long term contract with Nike (which expires within two years), it looks like Kevin Plank might become a CU booster too.

Good luck to him, but he comes off a tad bit strong and arrogant for a guy who has only coached FCS for three years.
I respect Deion Sanders for what he achieved on the fields, but being a coach in a P5 conference is a totally different experience than coaching FCS. While not a great comparison of the person, his speech reminds me of this from Chris Ash early in his tenure at RU:
"I watched film on Rutgers last season, when I was sitting at Ohio State, and what I saw on film was a team that quit. When they were faced with adversity, they quit. That tells you there’s a problem. There’s a problem with the way they were trained, there’s a problem with the way they behaved, what they believe.
“So when you come here, there’s a dark cloud over this building. The challenge is to try and remove that. It starts with positive energy and a positive attitude every single day.”
How did it work out for Mr. Dark Cloud. Maybe Deion will be Mister Blue Skies. Hope it works out for him. Time will tell.

The University of Colorado Boulder is picky about what credits the institution will accept when a student wants to transfer in. That presents some problems for incoming transfer student-athletes, especially with the new NCAA transfer portal.

However, with new head football coach Deion Sanders being introduced in a press conference Sunday, DiStefano seemed ready to shake things up.
"We're working to give coach and all of his student-athletes the stools they need to succeed," Distefano said.
The rumors are he's already trying to poach kids from teams, even some that aren't in or considering the portal through intermediaries. If there is a guy to push the limits of the rules (and maybe even break them), it's gonna be Deion.
In addition, many people find Colorado a nicer place to live. The sun doesn't rise and set on NYC.
Doesn't seem weird to me. He's saying, "I don't have the money yet to pay Sanders, but, don't worry, I'm going to get it." He knows that he can find alums that will help foot the bill.
He's upset that athletic departments are run on pledges rather than cash? That's not a very smart statement. All charities budget on the basis of expected revenue in addition to what they have. All businesses do, too. They look at accounts receivable as well as cash on hand and that's how they plan what they're going to spend. If they run into a cash shortfall (that is, they're spending money they haven't received yet), they get a bridge loan until the accounts are paid. This fellow must have spent his whole life scribbling for media.
I've said a million times before CU will do things RU won't consider if it advances the program. Some of you question CU and place it in the same boat as RU, but it's different. I love Rutgers ( my father figure) will teach you honor and be a stand-up person, but Colorado ( my mother figure) will rob, steal, or kill to provide for its kids.
Sanders would owe CU $15M if he leaves in the first year, $10M if he leaves in the 2nd year, $8M in the third year and $5M if he leaves after that. If Colorado fires Sanders at any point without cause, the school would owe him 75% of his remaining contract.
We could have had ML a couple of years ago. One thing we wouldn’t be talking about scoring. Think we always worry about NJ background. Don’t think Saban is from GS, Kelly from Louisiana or Day from Ohio.. yYou better have an offensive coach in the Big Ten or you are doomed. May be a reason why we haven’t hired an OC yet, coming here as an OZc could be a career killer

At a minimum, we could get an OC from the Leach coaching tree. Seth Littrell would be a great get. Just fired as North Texas Head Coach. Has a history of prolific offenses as OC at UNC and Indiana.
