Woke up extra early today so that I could pack for our trip back to the south after work .....and I realize the world is still spinning. Guess the Mayans were off or something, or maybe it just hasn't hit my time zone yet.

There's reports trickling in from overseas of a huge orb of light hovering in the sky that's emitting heat.

So, this is heaven. I thought it would be different. It looks much like the place I left when the world ended.

I saw a huge fireball pass by a few minutes ago

Not sure if it was a comet or a meteorite. I think it has to make a couple more passes before impact, but we still have almost 18 hours. And the Mayans used Central time, so that's an accurate figure.

For what it's worth, Giorgio doesn't think the end will happen today. He's having some sort of party in New Orleans where he'll step out of a UFO or some such.

Winter solstice isn't until 5:12 Central. I'm sure that's what they were basing their calendar on so we'll have to wait until then to be sure of anything.

Rebels247 just sent out a tweet that the end of the world will "probably not" happen tonight. It has been delayed until tomorrow at 11 AM.

My sources tell me that The World will wait to see what Robert Kemdixie does before it makes a final decision. I would not be surprised to see the world end on or around signing day.

Hopefully the History Channel will be about history now

The Mayan apocalypse has been 50% of their programming for the last 2 years. (That does not include all the other apocalypse **** they talk about)

If the world wants to end then it should end; if not then don't...

no drama is necessary. I will get excited about the end of the world when it shows me on the field.

They'll just add some more Pawn Shop or crazy people shows

I just went through the guide for tonight. Here is what's on TV at 7:00 tonight on what used to be some pretty educational channels.

Discovery: Gold Rush

The Learning Channel: Say Yes to the Dress... and if they are showing Honey Boo Boo how can they continue to call themselves The Learning Channel

History: American Pickers

History2: Ancient Aliens

National Geographic: Evacuate Earth (we're about to collide and have to escape to another planet)

Biography: My Ghost Story

Animal Planet: Infested!

We didn't want the End of the World anyway

He was behind End of Universe and Mass Extinction of all Plant Life on our list.

The only one of those that contributes to history/knowledge AND is entertaining is American Pickers. The History Channel got it right with that one. Granted, it seems corny and scripted sometimes but the objects and their history are real.

Makes me laugh thinking of my favorite line from Monsters vs Aliens....

The President of the United States: "Listen up! I'm not going to go down in history as the President who was in office when the world came to an end, so somebody think of something, and think of it fast!"
