SC6 is no good. This is the main bullet point of this thread that should not get overlooked.
For sure, so bad that you have to conclude since both were known commodities that there was some sort of agenda to even trying it.

Calling someone a WHITE supremacist, is using race as a weapon to inflict scorn on someone. There is zero proof, other than being white, that anyone in Trump's cabinet is a white supremacist. She doesn't like them, so she is using race to try and belittle them. That is textbook racism.

Like I posted earlier, I really don't care what she says, if thats her opinion I'm glad to know it now. However, the double standard is ridiculous, and is dangerous for the overall stability of the nation.

I'd rather we not even start hashing out whether she was right or wrong to call them that. I think some people would argue that certain members of his cabinet have particular histories and affiliations that could make it debatable, but no one is going to change anyone's mind on that.

But I don't view white supremacist as a racist term. It's no different than calling someone a racist. It isn't racist to call someone a racist. This is just a particular brand of racism. She could call them nazis or communists or anarchists. Obviously white supremacists are going to be overwhelmingly white, but it isn't an inherent racial slur based on skin color, it's based on behavior and belief. It's because they're hateful, not because they're white.

Regardless, she could be 100% wrong and stupid and it's still her own personal twitter account.

Why? How are words by TV personalities, responses by employers that dangerous if we believe in the first amendment?

You're misunderstanding me, the double standard is what's dangerous. I don't care what she says on twitter, or on ESPN for that matter. What I do worry about is how one side of the spectrum is handled differently.

I get it but how is it dangerous on Twitter or in the workplace in a right to hire state?

When you use race to be derogatory, it's racist. Personally, as I've stated previously, I don't care what she says, I'm glad she said it because now I know for certain she's an idiot.

Liberals NEVER see the double standard that exists in the media at large. The double standard is the complaint here, not her idiotic takes. She is allowed to spew her nonsense with ZERO repercussions, while those with conservative viewpoints are reprimanded or fired.

How could it if we believe a company can hire or fire who they please or a person can say what they please? What I really DON'T get is the fear mongering. I certainly expect it from pols.
I know you are acting naive on purpose but she is a contract employee and companies are very hesitant to reprimand or fire minority females regardless. And believe cannot say what they please at work. That is laughable part of this thread.

Dude, I wrote that I don't think she needs to be fired. What irks me, and I'd bet everyone in this thread is the double standard in the media and entertainment industry.

Wrong is wrong, it doesn't matter if a straight white guy says it, a gay puerto rican, or a black female sportshow host says it. Handle them all the same way, it's really not that difficult to follow.

I believe they see it, they just don't care. They are for censorship of any ideology that is not in line with theirs. Their biggest problem is they don't know the definition of inclusivity or tolerance.

He agrees with favoritism and racism. His goal is no different than his leadership's goal. One America under the boot of socialism.

I thought this was the Paddocks where general subjects are discussed. If it was about Obama you would have been enraged. Silly me, I forgot, you generally try to lie or deflect, in this case, deflect. Carry on.
Blah blah blah, it was moved from Rupps Rafters doofus, hence the OT in the title. If I hadn't called out Nazis you wouldn't still be so mad.

"ESPN is an inclusive company. Curt Schilling has been advised that his conduct was unacceptable and his employment with ESPN has been terminated." http://espnmediazone.com/us/press-releases/2016/04/espn-statement-on-curt-schilling-5/

I wasn't aware he was fired for a facebook post. I thought it was something he said on a radio show, to be honest. Absolutely the wrong move by ESPN. What he said was dumb and it offended people, but facebook is probably even more private/personal than twitter.

Now, you could argue he had been abrasive and awful for a while and was on thin ice, but Jemele Hill has been too. My guess is that big SC6 contract and marketing push is what got her a warning and not let go, but it's definitely inconsistent.

Your crack head comments don't help. Especially when they are uninformed and lack facts or honesty. The norm for you. If you were as smart as you think you are you would be a Trump supporter and not a Hillary butt kisser.
Uninformed? OK who just went a rant about this being the paddock when it clearly originated on another board?
I am seething because of your tremendous wit. You are so wise. Just like Madame President Rodham-Clinton-Abedin.
OK, I'm sorry I was mean to your Nazis. Go get them Mountain Dew teeth fixed and calm down.

Ungodly dishonest. ESPN lists the twitter accounts of their personalities ON AIR under their names. They are not personal. Again, they could be, but they are in on it.

Because big personalities are good for the brand. It would be wasteful to have a "work only" twitter account for them. But it doesn't mean they're always representing ESPN's thoughts. Anyone with a brain and no agenda knows that is only what Jemele Hill thinks. ESPN is just the platform these people express their sports analysis through.

Liberalism is the disease that is tearing this country apart. There are different rules for those infected by this terrible affliction. They are allowed to promote hate against anyone who disagrees with their sinister plans & ideas. Luckily, for the nation, the voters saw thru this deviance, & chose the person who is most capable of curing this mental illness.

I don't care what she says. But the breathtaking ingratitude and arrogance she displays annoys me. She's a fat, not particularly attractive loud mouth with no special talent making in the mid-six figures a year. Why? Because she fills an affirmative action niche at a network concerned, with some justification, with the racial and gender make-up of its on air readers. Good for her.

But is she grateful for basically winning the lottery of those in this country overcompensated for meager abilities? No. She has to pepper every conversation with talk of 'white privilege.' Who in the hell is more privileged, with less reason to be, than her?

The only thing that makes me angry is your racist agenda. You hate white people.
Yeah, it's evident that I hate white people by saying this thread didn't belong on the basketball board. After saying that, the trash on this site who allows BS politics to rule their life came back with Hillary Clinton, Obama, uninformed, and you hate white people. That's the level of stupid that we're dealing with here. Y'all like to say triggered, what do you call it when you get those responses from saying a political post doesn't belong on the basketball board? Oh well, you're clearly too stupid and ate up with your politics to use sound reasoning and judgement.

The best thing about Smarmy Leftist is their assumption that everyone that disagrees with them is stupid.

My family had soldiers at the Battle of the Bulge. Never defended a Nazi in my life other than saying even they have First Admendment rights.

So wrongly labeling someone a white supremacists is ok.

Jemele Hill is a black supremacist. She is a racist. Giving a public forum to racist is frowned upon at ESPN.

We aren't debating "ok." We're debating whether it's racist to call someone a white supremacist. Not whether it's right or wrong or any of those people are.

It doesn't matter, because Jemele Hill's opinion doesn't alter reality or impact anything.

The best thing about Righteous Righty is their assumption that they can lump everyone who disagrees with them into the liberal box with no differentiation.

See how awful that is?

LOL, you can't even stay with the point. Given your incoherent babble earlier I can understand why.

Or a decade of twisting every way possible to always defend their team's behavior. Why don't you print out your views of white supremacy and send them home with your students and test your first amendment rights?

Lazy opinion and why they are facing the issues they are. You simply want them spewing their garbage because you like it. If they had 20 Curt Shillings you would have a different tune.

I love how now the left is all about free speech even though they've been trying to shut it down recently.

There is some truth to that, a lot of liberals believe 100% completely in free speech, so long as it is completely PC and in lock step with their own thoughts. Woe unto someone who crosses the line into a different thought process.

Of course, OTOH, the far right has learned to adopt pretty well to the same MO, at least in my view.
