Has anyone used any of these new fitness bands that have come out in the past year or two? Specifically I am interested in the Jawbone UP24, the Nike Fuelband SE, and the Fitbit Force. I am curious to know how reliable they are and if anyone can personally vouch for one over the other (or another brand I am not including). Thoughts?

Except it's currently recalled isn't it?

Youre right though, that seems to be the best one. None of them are that accurate yet, and the sleep stuff is close to guessing. They are good motivators from what I've seen.

Well what are you wanting to get out of wearing it? I was given the fitbit but quit wearing after a few weeks cause I could care less how many steps I walked.

To be honest, I'm trying to find a way to help my dad lose some weight. He is in his late 50s. So, I'm trying to see if any of these would help with the motivation of a man of that age, and possibly make a "competition" for how many steps walked a day or something between me and him. I'm obviously younger and more active -- I am just looking for something that may be simple and user-friendly for a mostly sedentary man, but who is young enough to have an iPhone and uses it daily.

Speaking of Yeti, saw this sticker the other day.

Youre not awesome until you have one of these.

17 a fitness band and get in the gym and lift some weight. Just start a 5x5 program and check back in 6 months. You will be stronger than you have ever been in your life.

Not trying to be

An *** but if you want to lose weight, don't eat as much. Stop using food as entertainment/ reward. Get in the gym or start walking / jogging at your home. Keep this up over time and you will lose weight.

Ok, again, in response to you and Felonious Junk, it isn't for me truly. I'm trying to find a way to help my father lose weight who I do not see often. I thought using those apps with the fitness bands would be a good motivator for someone who isn't self motivated. Personally, I am not trying to get stronger or lose weight. Just looking to find a way to partner with a sedentary relative that I don't see often to help keep him accountable. If fitness band isn't the way to go, that's fine. I'm more looking for help with motivation of another individual.

I've heard that Heroine or Crystal Meth is the easiest way to drop the L.B.'s.
