That would raise the ABW...He doesn't think it's needed.

ETA: He's not publicly discussing it right now. It's probably a simple play to show he has power...but if you've got email, let them know you want it passed.

It doesn't make any sense seeing as how the bill was easily passed by the House and Senate which are both controlled by his party. I'm not saying you're wrong, just curious as to where you're getting your information.

No commitments does not mean "threaten to veto", by default. It's probably just the Governor's office giving the appearance of riding the fence until the last minute so they don't piss off the ultra conservative folks that still maintain the drinking is the devil.

Bryant is a first-term governor with an evangelical base. His constituency would like a veto with regard to this bill.

<span class="messageBody"><font size="4" face="Arial">For those that might have heard a rumor about a veto, please don't buy into this. We have information that someone has posted things on the interwebz about this. There is no validity to this. If you're one of the people that saw this and were thinking about emailing the Governor, don't. We're on top of it. If you have a question, email an executive committee member. Thanks.

Same here. Everybody I know who has any kind of inside info say that the governor has said he is not opposed to the bill and will sign it.

maybe if you remind him that the increased alcohol content might result in more unwanted babies, he will be for it.
