This is all so ****ing stupid. Just split the entire nation into the SEC and B1G at this point.
So nice for RU to have a seat at the adult table.

Saw a random post on X/Twitter from a Liberty fan taking a shot at Rutgers. Did not respond, but should have:

Liberty is a cult
Good football, but cult
They have an argument to go up to a P5 conference. B1G would never happen. Big 12 or ACC- maybe??? I understand their religious aspect may be polarizing. I don't care about that stuff in these decisions. I care about good football.

The ACC would be tough right now with UVA and VT.
B12 possibly?
Or ACC when it splits up?

They're like UCF - a case of being too late to the party
If they did what they're doing now back in 70's / 80's, they'd had have a shot at doing big things

I get that @JayDogSmooth is a big FSU booster
Ya think? Never seen so much of another school's issues discussed and advocated for on this Rutgers board. (other than that HS Bosco fixated poster of yesteryear)

With a 12 team playoff coming next year and the ACC Champion guaranteed a spot, what’s in it for these schools to try and compete in a 25-team Big 12 for the same spot? Wont happen this guy is talking his “wishful thinking” not anything based in reality
I think the revenue gap between the ACC and big10/SEC is big and getting bigger
Add in the increasing perception that the ACC is not as good, this being confirmed more so with the team selections now

Being that I donate to both NIL's for Rutgers as well and have season tickets for 4 sports, I'm more than happy to discuss Rutgers anytime.

However, every time I say something remotely not positive, the usual sunshine pumpers come out in full force to defend St. Gregory, the program, why NIL sucks, etc.

I love discussing football - but am brutally honest in my assessments as my expectations for this program are high, and I don't like accepting mediocrity when the potential for so much more is there.

Or, I could be like others and post 9 million off topic discussions. Which I don't mind doing from time to time, but that's not the purpose of the board.

End of day, football is why we're here

The hyperacidity of the NCAA knows no bounds.
They're a collegiate version of FIFA.

I said it in previous posts that nothing these guys do surprises me.

No death penalty for PSU.
Giving OSU probation for tattoo for merch swap.

Baylor killing people, minimal penalties.
Auburn paying Cam 200k, nada.

FSU guys cheat in online music class and self-report, 12 wins vacated.
UNC fake classes and degrees, nothing happens.

Incompetence and hypocrisy is par for the course for these buffoons.
I think you should have just paid more for a better third string QB.

There's only so much $ to go around, and paying big $ for third string QB's is generally a bad business move.

Between Verse, Keon, Benson, Travis, etc. - the payroll was already pretty high.

I assume moving forward, spreading the wealth that is something that will be discussed, if it hasn't been already.

$$$ talks

It's the same reason people are wrong when they say "Big Ten and SEC will never break off. They need the other schools to best up on. The elites won't risk 3-4 losses in a season with a Super League".

That exactly what the elites are already doing with OU, Washington and USC to Big 10 and Texas/Oklahoma to SEC.

If the money is enough, UM, OSU, Bama, Georgia are happy to accept Top 10 teams into the conference and risk more losses.

very thin skin fanbase here

one poster makes disparaging comments about a kid entering portal but say Gav sucks (which is statistically valid) and you'd of thought you just shot the Pope.

oops Pope, that alone will bring out the hives for some

See that's the thing, we all love Rutgers or we wouldn't be on here.

But facts are facts - and the program has generally sucked in our lifetimes, yet all we ever hear is how Rutgers is the sleeping giant.

I wholeheartedly believe that - but for us to achieve that status, expectations need to be higher than they are across the board. A steady diet of Pinstripe/Quik Lane/etc. should ever be the norm, tolerated, or treated as such.

To get to a higher level (and nobody ever said PSU/Mich/OSU status), things need to change. And when I don't see them changing, even though it's apparent to anyone with an ounce of football knowledge, I'll continue to speak out.

If Indiana/Purdue/NW was our ceiling, I'd accept it. But when Wisconsin/Iowa/Sparty is, I won't.

I believe it too and don't believe that's our ceiling. This year proved that. We could have legitimately gotten to 8 wins this year if not for Greg's inability to adapt to the team he has, management of qb (years in the making) and refusal to allow for more risk. Greg sees losing to OSU by 10-17 as a victory instead of what it is.

we are way past the time for moral victories, it's a big business.

Yep, when we signed on w/the B1G, everything changed. Hell, it should have changed long before that, but I digress.

Moral victories are for small time programs. I never want to be looked at like that. It's beneath us, and embarrassing.

I want people (fans, staff, players, etc.) to be pissed off about losing to Buckeye when the game was there to be won, not happy that we merely competed with them.

I want credit to go where it's due, and criticism as well; and with that, comes the rewards (NIL) and consequences (changes).

College FB is a business. Greg isn't coaching for free. And the players aren't playing for free.

I fully expect us to compete every time we're out on that field, win with class, lose with dignity, and keep ascending as a program (and fanbase) to where we truly have the potential to be.
