There are a lot of people out there maxed out to the hilt in debt. Not just people in McMansions either but people in double wides with a 30k dollar SxS and lifted diesel trucks with those godawful deep dish wheels/tires that cost about 5k.

Either they've gotten their inheritance or borrowing against it hopping they can cash flow the debt load until their parents die . One way or the other that's a lot of money that's going to change hands .

I used to think people were just in debt or whatever, kinda sheep thought. Then I realized that most people actually live within 20% of their income, so while they are in debt, they still do make a lot of money. But then I saw my SIL and her husband's credit balance one day, and this was like 15 years ago, it was around 160K. I didn't get a chance to look in detail, but it was some sort of consolidated debt. I'm guessing almost pure credit cards or maybe student loans.
How da fook do people make payments on something like that? A mortgage is over 15-30 years, a car over 5-7, with lower rates. I don't know of any straight consumer debt that is a good enough investment for somebody to loan against.

Same here. I passed on the bigger house during COVID and refinanced into a 2% mortgage. I amortized for 15 but have been paying it like a 10 year. There is a beautiful house being built that is on the lake visible from Reunion Parkway that I pass every morning. Has to be north of $1.6 million, maybe even $2 million.
And there's dozens of them.
I thought I was doing something wrong until I heard a couple of stories of how over leveraged some folks are.
A little over a year ago I quit my job, went fishing in Alaska, moved to Florida, bought a boat, joined a Mardi Gras krewe, went on a Nile River cruse, and checked off three bucket list museums. What are you talking about.

Same here, but I do watch the news if my internet happens to be working. My 3 dogs keep me plenty busy. No wife, no kids. Just me and the dogs.
Could be some of the same tech that was dropped on Maduro’s guards, getting field-tested on the home front. Track your symptoms.
2025 sucked. I’m hoping 26 is better but it’s not looking promising so far.
We drove around when visiting my folks a few weeks ago. Said the same thing. What local economy is cash flowing the notes on all those homes? It's insane. Folks must leveraged to the gills and assuming or received a big inheritance.
I've never been more motivated professionally. I'm seeing huge improvements and the fruits of labor are starting to really kick in. My brain is really forging forward just knocking out project after project. All I can think about is what's next. Never content. This is a big year for me professionally because it sets the table for the future and I honestly don't feel like there is anything to hold me back. Mental health wise, great. Physical health wise, def need some cleanup there. I could lose some but I always really dial that in this time of year.
A few years ago I was in intense mental warfare day in day out and it was draining. It was 15 years of bs coming to a head. And i can see it in pictures of myself like 3-5 years ago. Kept the course, kept battling, and it all worked out as it should. Pushing through awful times is like mental rocket fuel when you get through it. Stay the course

I tend to get in a rut this time of year. I blame it on post-Holidays hangover + seasonal depression. I need sunlight and to be outside a good bit to function at 100
Got fired from my job a few years back. Hated it anyway. Maybe the reason. Never been financially, mentally, or spiritually better off. Sorry if any of you folks are having trouble.
Ive been here since the beginning and at that time I did live in Nashville. Was President of the Music City Bulldogs. Moved to Birmingham but aging parents and now getting all the kids through high school has me in the Madison area.

I’m in my early sixties. I retired in late 24 after open heart surgery. Moved to Jackson area to be near kids/grands and am now dabbling in sales. The only stress I have is paying for my youngest daughter’s wedding. And she is high maintenance. Other than that? Unicorns and butterflies boys
Forced to retire in 2017, put on disability soon after... lost all retirement $$ to the hospital. If you need retirement advice... don't.
My brother in law caught a break on the younger daughter. Stopped by their house just before Christmas last year. Sister said, oh by the way Younger daughter & boyfriend are in Pigeon Forge getting married today. And she’s pregnant. I just high fived my brother in law.

Excluding the hire of BOC and the prospects of this year's team finally getting out of the cellar, the last two years of MSU athletics alone would have me spiraling if I hadn't repressed my ability to feel.
The city of Orange Beach has put in a skeet/ trap range. Building a five stand, pistol range and a 300 yard rifle range. Don’t tell anyone. So far only about six of us and the high school shooting team know about it.
We are doing well. Retired and planning to hit the road with our 5th wheel. Going to FL first to see family and friends then on to the Keys. We love to travel.
