Looks toasty (for March) from 3/11-3/15...

Looks like a great time for a ride to AC!

Good shot someone hits 70 next week. Just a few days of warmth and back to 50s but no cold air on the horizon

Great.
Baseball starts in 3 weeks.
Need these grass fields to dry out so outdoor practices can start happening.

17° this morning above Boone NC, snowing and blowing, with winds of 14 mph, gusting to 23 mph. So far, looks like just 2" down but drifts of 6". Had our fill of winter. Ready for spring....
Sheer lack of snow in a winter storm thread feels defeating, so I'll piggyback on your post to add:

Raining imby in Wasatch Front but well over a foot of snow a few thousand feet higher in mtns. No shoveling before snowboarding! But variable snow for sure ... knee deep powder up top, thick, wet, crumbly cookie dough down low.

Lol. Still blowin here. 18" drift in driveway. Going to let it be, for now. Just cannot muster the courage and energy to clear it. Tomorrow, though....

Cold is cold. It's winter after all but these winds the past month or so have really sucked. 30, 40, 50 mph gusts more often than not.
This time of year always sucks for wind or sucks wind as the case may be. Angry competing air masses.

Understand your point but have to say I've been down here at the shore for 30+ years. Maybe it's me (age 😊) but this has been much more consistent than any I remember. The other day we hit 60mph
Maybe man made?

Windy through Saturday, but as per the NWS, next Wednesday might see the first 70F day in Philly, right on time...

"For Philadelphia Int'l Airport, the average first 70° day of the year within the 1991-2020 climate normal period is March 12th. Coincidentally, we are currently forecasting the first 70° of the year to occur next Wednesday, March 12th!
The earliest 70° day on record was January 6, 2007 and latest was April 29, 1940.
The average first 80° day is exactly 1 month later on April 12th. The average first 90° day is May 24th"

But it says February 20th. 🤷‍♂️

Are you a wizard or time traveler?

Sustained 25-30 mph winds all day today in FL. 3 foot waves in the Gulf of America

Normal for this time of year.
From the Rutgers NJ Weather network......

The first month of 2025 was cold, dry, and windy. It was the coldest January since 2014, one of the driest of the past 131 years, dew points dropped below zero or into the single digits on 23 days, and winds gusted to 40 mph or higher on 16 days. No doubt, a profitable outcome for those in the lip balm business!

And that's New Brunswick, not the coast. Winds here hit 49 last night.

No matter how you slice it, that's not normal so unless you're trolling I suggest you provide data or back away.

Fair enough. But I was talking about it being normal to experience windy conditions this time of year. No use complaining about it, especially if you live near the ocean.

True.

But it’s just windy-er no matter where you live right now.

I believe it was 2018 or 19, I lost five sections of fence. A couple of posts snapped due to the wind. Another one of those March events.
