#’s - you would have been jealous this AM. I went skiing at Hunter and it was snowing from about 7:30-9:30 AM. No real accumulation but a perfect coat on top of the groomed snow. Amazing how 100 miles north can be so much colder. Was in the low 20’s with feels like around 6 this AM.

Drove down to Virginia on Thursday to visit Tyler, man, I could feel the wind buffeting my minivan on the drive down 81.

Windy through Saturday, but as per the NWS, next Wednesday might see the first 70F day in Philly, right on time...

"For Philadelphia Int'l Airport, the average first 70° day of the year within the 1991-2020 climate normal period is March 12th. Coincidentally, we are currently forecasting the first 70° of the year to occur next Wednesday, March 12th!
The earliest 70° day on record was January 6, 2007 and latest was April 29, 1940.
The average first 80° day is exactly 1 month later on April 12th. The average first 90° day is May 24th"
Backdoor cold front time of year...unfortunately, that means much cooler temps on Weds/Thurs than originally thought, i.e., highs in the low/mid 50s vs. near 70F and it might not hit 60F all week.

Heading down to Atlanta tonight through Tuesday, looks like the temperatures will not be that much warmer than New Jersey

What's a season pass cost you there nowadays?

I get the Epic Local pass. Looks like it will be $783 next year. I think it was $730 per year. Gives me unlimited access to all Northeast resorts (except Stowe - restricted on the 3 big holiday days), unlimited Rockies (Breck, Keystone, Crested, Park City & others except the big holidays), get up to 10 days at Vail, Whistler & 5 in Switzerland. You really can't beat it. If IKON did a similar type of pass I would do that as well. Their similar tier pass is closer to $1000 but is better for those out west. In the 90's it used to cost like $1200-1500 just for a season pass at Hunter.

It's part of epic. So like 1k if bought early
Correct but most people can do better with the lower tier Epic passes. Most people in the NE are not going out west or to EUR/JAP multiple times during the season. With the daily lift tickets at places like Hunter being $160, you are better off getting the lower tier pass if you go 3-4 days a year.

I'm good w/60's
This winter felt like an apocalypse
Snow, cold, grey, depressing
Hopefully it's over
I thought you lived in NJ, not upstate NY or VT. 😀 I am in Bergen and there was pretty much no snow this year and temps were not bad at all. Meteorologic spring started March 1st, and it's amazing how quick we go from the ski to golf season over this month.

Well, that’s to be expected when the calendar says February 20th.

No I do not. But I don’t blindly follow dbags who want to change history on a whim. You do know that when a town changes its name in this state it’s done by referendum.
Its done

Agreed March weather sucks. Went for a run yesterday and seems every direction I went I was running into the wind. Did some yardwork today and it was still brutal. Hopefully like @WhiteBus said this week is gonna be better.
It’s amazing how it always seems to be in your face during a run. I went around a corner on 10th Ave Friday and practically came to a dead stop. The wind had to be about a 40 mph gust.

Down in Charlottesville right now, visiting Tyler. Heading back tomorrow: next 5 days down here are predicted to be in the low to mid 70's.

Speaking of running in March, the NYC half marathon is this Sunday and I'm praying for the current forecast of rain to change. Watching closely.

Maybe, but this has to be the warmest February 20th on record, no?

Somebody, who is in to this stuff and knows how to do it (like read a calendar), should look it up.

You're such a petulant little child. The NWS was wrong on Mon/Tues - big deal - was gorgeous out and will be again tomorrow. Maybe just enjoy it. But the main point of that post was about the backdoor cold front likely keeping temps in the 50s from Weds-Fri, when that period was originally looking like near 70F highs and temps still look like they'll be in the 50s for highs those days with temps likely around 65-70F on Sat/Sun (before a powerful front comes thru on Sunday, bringing possible heavy showers and t-storms and very windy conditions and then much cooler for early next week).

How can you say it's colder when everyday is going to be above average??

It was really beautiful out today. Was able to get out after work for a little while. Good to see a bunch of people and their dogs out taking advantage of the nice weather.

And nws wasn't wrong..they had low to mid 60s for Monday and Tuesday for a week now..2 days in 50s big deal..then warming again

I thought we were getting snow on March 9...bahaha
