I don’t know if Ghostbusters is considered a comic book movie or not since the movie came out before the comics. But after watching the GHOSTBUSTERS AFTERLIFE trailer review by New Rockstars, it has renewed my interest in this series after that current abomination a couple of years ago.

Thoughts on today’s Marvel’s WHAT IF Episode on Disney Ploose?
Though I am more interested in other storylines, I thought the animation was cool as hell looking. They maybe portrayed her as a little OP, but I liked it overall and definitely looking forward to other episodes.

I liked the episode and I like the idea that 1 decision can change everything with the story like they did with episode 1. At first I thought it was rushed but they had to do a 2 hour movie in 22 minutes.

And with Sylvie creating the multiverse, I wouldn’t be surprised if these episode are canon.

The show is canon. We supposedly will see Captain Carter show up in future movie(s).

Two questions:

1. Are they all connected in some way?

2. If true, what order should I watch them in?

This explains everything that happens in the MCU timeline in 25 minutes. Including the chaos caused by Sylvie in Loki.

Spider-Man trailer looks like it’s going to be great. It will be interesting to see who actually is in it. But this looks like to be the “end game” for Spider-Man.

I hope they bring back punisher. A great show with a sense of realism. Any way they pair punisher with daredevil again?

Ah the WoT!

Here‘s my experience there. The first couple of books were about as good as fantasy as you can get. It’s right up there with Tolkien and Martin. So I was all in. Then the meandering started. The overly descriptive scenes. The repeated tropes - how many times do we need to hear of a guy angrily crushing a wine/ale glass in his now bleeding hand?

Most of the adult women in my life watched “Days of our Lives”. Seems like when I was a kid, I couldn’t get away from it. I’ll never forget that friggen theme song, lol. Even picked up the names of chars and the stupid story lines. There was a big baddie named Stefano. I think some Greek guy. Any way, he’s always causing problems, blah, blah. So, one time, the guy dies. Of course, it was under dubious circumstances and they didn’t find the body. Turns out *shocker*, he shows up again. This crap must have happened DOZENS of times! For years, my running gag when I chatted with my mom/stepmom/grandmom/aunts: Is Stefano dead? Did they find the body?

The point of all that: like any soap opera, the WoT NEVER FRIGGING ENDED!! After about book 5, I tapped out. This guy was on like book 12 with no end in sight. I knew Jordan would croak before he finished (he kind of said as much). And, sure as ****, that’s exactly what happened. I think someone in his family cobbled his notes and finally “finished” the series.

I remember the first few books very fondly, so I would recommend them…the rest not so much. Just be aware of what you are getting into. It can be pretty unsatisfying to get immersed in a world and it’s characters, only to have the story go on forever and not have a real conclusion. Come to think, I’m still a little bitter about it, lol.

Oh, on top of that, each book is like a thousand pages. So, you get quite the work out holding this monster up for hours. Gotta love that TOR printing.

Checked WoT on Wikipedia for fun. The whole series is over 12k pages and 4.4 million words! Plus, the audio books are almost 500 hours. At least the show won’t lack for material.

Trailer showed Doc Ock and Green Goblin already in this.

Lots of truth in this post! All fans/readers of WOT have felt the same. Books 1-6 were as good as fantasy writing gets. Truly remarkable. Then Robert Jordan lost control of the story, pointless subplots, unneeded extra characters, and the story started to collapse on itself. Book 10 (Crossroad of Twilight) may be the worse book even written in the English language. Thankfully Brandon Sanderson (who is an exceptional author) was able to complete the series after RJ died.

T2K - I’m impressed that you made it to 10, lol. Did you actually finish the whole thing?

I read the first 6 books in the summer of 95 or 96. All were out already. When published, I read 7 (okay), 8 (bad), 9 (meh), and half of 10 when I finally said this is crap and stopped. To this day, I have never read 11. However, once Brandon Sanderson got the job to complete the series, I skimmed 12 and 13, and legitimately read 14 to at least see how it all ends. Sanderson and RJ are different authors with significantly different styles, but I think the final 3 were solid and delivered a good enough ending to satisfy me (and my very low expectations).

That's my WOT journey! 😜

I think crazy @Rhuarc read them all, right?

Ok, I'm super late to this, BUT anyone watch Titans on HBO Max? Really enjoying this series. I was never a Teen Titans comic reader, but really like how this is done. Reminds me of Heroes & Gotham, but a bit edgier.

Any one else watch this? If not, and your a DC fan check it out.

WOW! That is exactly how I felt about it. I think I own the first 4-5 books, read the next couple but never bought them, then just gave up.

Did you ever read Eddings or Feist?

Without spoilers how is Shang Chi?
There is a mid credits cutscene as well as a post credit cutscene. It was good overall and sets up future movies like all the other marvel movies. There were just a couple of darker action scenes that were a bit hard to follow on a big movie screen. I think watching it at home would remedy that.

WOT Trailer from Amazon Prime was released a few days ago:

Yeah, saw this yesterday. Gotta say, it looks good, we’ll see.

Just wanted to comment on how awesome a job these once content providers have been doing on content creation. HBO (been doing it for a while, but didn’t start out that way), Netflix, Amazon, etc. It’s just mostly really high quality stuff. And now that our generation are the ones calling the shots, alot of print stuff we grew up on is getting massive representation. And the creators mostly give them massive justice, they obviously grew up on it too. Maybe this has always been the case, but it’s just really awesome that now its happening with us. Kinda keeping me young AND can point out to my kids all the dorky stuff I liked when I was a kid is now super cool.

Amazon is spending a ridiculous amount of money on WOT (hundreds of millions). They are already working on season 2. The great thing about WOT is that the series is complete. GOT was remarkable, until HBO ran out of source material and needed Dan/Dave to write it themselves.

The challenge with WOT is to keep it focused. Overall, it's an amazing story that the author lost control over and it got bloated. Remove the unneeded excess and the TV show could be better than the books.

I read them all, but by the time I started, RJ was gone and Sanderson, who I'm a huge fan of, was already working on the project. I own them all, lol. Only the Sanderson books in hardcover. Then again, I own over a thousand books so not really a big deal.

I've been following. Pretty good thru the first 2 seasons. Season 3 however has been too Batman/Gotham centric.
